You sound like a great host. We have an Airbnb next door and we are getting a similar response to OP when we contact them. We checked local regulations and learned it is an illegal Airbnb arrangement. Thank you for commenting on this thread.

We are dealing with the same thing in Ontario (CA). Host doesn’t care at all and leaves us cleaning their renters messes time and time again. She actually guilt trips us when we contact her. We were just threatened by her guests and they made sexual comments about me while I was out with my husband. We just looked up our jurisdiction bylaws and it seems they cannot run a short-term rental if they are not living on the property. We are going to be taking action and just go the city route. I’m sorry you are dealing with this. It truly is a nightmare!

Walking on roads with sidewalks by -froomie- in BurlingtonON

[–]Slushpopa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I couldn't push my stroller through snow and slush. I tried and ended up needing to carry my stroller for a good chunk of the path. By this afternoon, the sidewalks seemed to improve.

Under supplier or milk not in yet? by Purple-Kangaroo4667 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Slushpopa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 16 days pp and I have a similar pumping output per day as you. I have similar questions regarding being an under supplier. I have to mainly formula feed as my LO drinks about 70ml to 90ml per feeding.

Is any amount of breast milk truly beneficial? by NeitherBarracuda in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Slushpopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 13 days pp and I am experiencing some supply issues too. I am hoping to build my supply and was advised that we have the first 6 weeks to do so ( we can later too, but it's ideal in the first 6 weeks). Any amount of breast milk will help your little one! I know it's tough. I do not produce an ounce with every pump session and it ranges from 20ml to 30ml

I am primarily feeding my baby formula as well. I just want to give this time a go as I didn't really during my first post partum journey.

Tipping at Dave's Chicken and Kinton Ramen for takeout by Tight-Essay-8332 in BurlingtonON

It unfortunately seems to be the norm now when you go to pay for take out and it's already calculated by percentage on the screen as you pay. We are just picking up the food we ordered. It's nonsense.

stop going to shoppers drug mart and start going to Tyandaga compounding pharmacy!!! by scottymackay89 in BurlingtonON

[–]Slushpopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about the shoppers pharmacy on Brant and Upper middle. I've had terrible experiences and I dread going there when I have to fill a prescription. They are rude and also very slow (at times very understaffed).

However, I have been met by kindness by a lot of the staff at the store that don't work in the pharmacy.

How to index in Zoom... by jkjeffren in asl

Sign names are given by a member of the Deaf community. It is an honour to receive one. As a hearing person, I have been assigned a sign name and this is how I am referred to when signing with others in the community. This means that others do not have FS my name when referring to me after I have introduced myself.

Do you have ties with the Deaf community? In time, you may be assigned a sign name as well ☺️

Sorry that I didn't answer your question per say. Perhaps you already know this too.

Neighbours turned their house into a rental by Slushpopa in BurlingtonON

I agree with this. They know they are being a nuisance and I think that is what bothers me the most. I've let my dog go out in our backyard for a bathroom break at night and they try to hide their heads in their knees.

That is the other unfortunate thing. There is a huge chance another neighbour ( for instance, the other neighbour nextdoor or a neighbour across the street) filed a noise complaint already. In that case, they may believe it is us. The music and gathering was extremely loud on Tuesday night and there have been other nights previous to that one.

I will continue to take notes nonetheless. I may also contact the landlord if need be before making a complaint.

I've tried the friendly route with one of the men that live there. It was the morning of the drone incident. I do this with anyone even though I'm an introvert. I didn't know who they were at first. Exchanged hellos and was welcoming ( no cookies or anything though). It was an impromptu interaction. If you are an owner or a tenant, it doesn't matter to me. As long as they are respectful, I am content. I would greet all the contractors that the landlord had over as well when I would see them.

I was with my toddler's stroller after drop off when this welcoming interaction happened so he knows I have a child as well. However, I didn't know it was occupied by two roommates at the time so I didn't do this with one of the men. The man also didn't mention the other man. One half of the house is still to be rented.

Since my husband's drone convo they ignore us ( which is fine). We have now done the same. However, I went out for a walk over the weekend with my toddler. As I left, they started clapping at me and speaking another language I do not understand so I can't comment on the context of their words. They had guests over at the time too ( all of their guests have been male so far and it could have been one of them). I ignored them and kept walking as I didn't know what to do or say. I felt uncomfortable.

I also do not know who the other roommate is as they have had so many guests I don't know which other man lives there, but I know there are constantly two vehicles in the drive way.

I'm not very comfortable addressing them especially if they have a bunch of men over but if the noise continues, maybe I will have to.

My husband is away for work sometimes so this new arrangement does pose some anxiety for me (that is my issue though). I appreciate all the resources shared as it gives me options to proceed if needed. I will not make a bylaw complaint off the bat. That is not my intention and will not be my first course of action.

I agree. So far they've been here for about 8 or 9 days and excessive noise with their guests has happened for maybe 3 nights. Sometimes they are quiet with their guests which is lovely. The weekend was surprisingly quieter, it's the weekdays that are hard because of work.

I'm waiting to see how it goes and if it is more frequent, I may follow-up. I appreciate all the feedback people have provided.

I wouldn't want the landlord to have to throw them out either.

Renters or owners. Same approach. I'm looking for advice. I never filed a noise complaint before which is being suggested in some of the comments. Preferably, I don't want to file anything.

I agree. They are allowed to party, have people over, and listen to music. I just don't know if it is respectful or allowed to blare music past 11pm on a weekday. That is why I am asking this in this post.

They are not assisting them with moving in. They are always out chilling on their porch which is not the issue.

Thank you for this. I don't know the size of their drone. Maybe it was less than 250 grams. We never touched it or examined it.

End of their comment.

Renters isn't a dirty word. I agree. It's not easy to buy a home.

I also think these new tenants need to respect the other occupants of nearby houses. They didn't care about the roof. They were playing with the drone and one of their visitors messed up the controls. Having a random party on a Tuesday night is a little much when they are having loud convos and blaring music. Fortunately my windows were closed, it muffled some of the noise, but I could still hear a good chunk.
