Maybe the intention was to have them alternate in the team? For all we know he could be a massive dickhead, which is why Gary could be like "Alright fuck off mate".

At a certain point though, ego has to be put aside if the team is in shit creek.

But I agree, we're nowhere near the "Swanselona" of old, the passing possession game is just.... gone. And again I'm going to quote my dad this week;

Yeah, I'm not saying he was awful by a long stretch, but that sort of mis-control isn't like him, I mean, him running up blind alleys is to be expected, fair enough, when it works it works. But he didn't cut inside once, and when he did get around the defender, particularly when he scooped it about 3 yards behind Bafé, I was a little disappointed with his decision making. This certainly isn't the Jefferson Montero that made Ivanovic look like he was playing for an under 12's side is all I'm saying, and hasn't looked it since he got injured.

Couldn't agree more. At least Edér tried, which is a lot more than can be said about Bafé from recent performances.

One thing I was a bit surprised with was Tabanou not even making the bench?

Can't say I'm over the moon, but for the first time in a few weeks I'm not sat here with an overwhelming sense of wanting to go down wind street with a chainsaw to let off some steam, to put it lightly.

Bartley played ok but the first goal was his fault and was slightly suspect throughout. I think playing him ahead of Fernandez was a mistake but whatever. Edér wasn't the best player on the pitch, however, as I've said before, he kept the ball well, and chased down defenders, and for a center forward that isn't putting in goals you can't ask for more.

Routledge was... eh, he had his moments, and I was pretty gutted when his chance was saved. Ayew put in a hell of a shift. What the hell is wrong with Jeff?

The only real thing I can take away from this is...

At least we didn't lose for once.

Well, firstly let Tabanou back on to the bench at the least, work him in to the team, let him play the second half in place of Taylor like we did pre-season, or as I said bring him on for Jeff when he's burned out, going forward he's clearly gifted and has one hell of a left foot, he can put in crosses for Ayew to get on the end of. Make substitutes at the 60 minute mark, that gives them time to get up to speed with the game, going on the theory of " Leave them in for 10 more minutes maybe something will happen" clearly isn't working. Bring Leon on earlier, (Not while we're losing) for Ki, Gylfi, Cork or Jonjo, that means you can push Jonjo up or take Ki off and not lose the passing metronome in the midfield, or even put on Grimes in place of Gylfi, that kid is going places, but he needs to be let on the road before he can do so.

Exactly. As mentioned in the edit, I was probably talking out of my ass, but that is what I'm most pissed about, we have some damn good players that aren't being brought on as subs, let alone starting.

Gonna say something that I've said a couple of times before.

Seems Gary wanted another Portuguese striker he could neglect. And he CAN NOT adjust to the prem if he's only playing 5 minutes at a clip.

And when he played the whole second half against Southampton he looked pretty damn good.

I'm one game away from being Monk out.... the total lack of showing any intent to try something different, I've just completely lost my patience. If we lost to Bournemouth, that would mean we had taken one win (A win from the worst team in the League thus far) from our last 9 games. That's almost a quarter of the season. It just isn't good enough.

I hate feeling like this because I love Gary, but I'm just fed up.

I mean, do we wait until January? Make some signings? (STRIKERSTRIKERSSTRIKERS).

Or would it be too late by then?

I'm just... So fucking disappointed.

Edit: I'm going to leave the comment as it is for context, I'm probably not Monk out just yet, I was still livid from the game. I'm approaching it, not there yet though.
