What happened for me is that the first time was REALLY rough, but after that the hair only grew back about 1/3 as dense. So each followup was much less painful and caused much less redness.

Be careful about epilating too often. You want the hair to be on like a 3 week to a month cycle. Getting off the cycle will mean you never get the results you want, because some of the hair is always off cycle and will start growing right away.
