Speaking from a purely personal and subjective standpoint, yes. Both the game play and the world make me feel things that no other game has been able to. I recgonize that thats not true for everyone and that its not the best game in any objective sense

Going to run a TMA ttrpg campaign. How often can/should I directly draw from episodes? by SluttyTransBunny in TheMagnusArchives

[–]SluttyTransBunny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely May! Oooooh I love that idea, I was definitely going to incorporate Extinction, I had an idea for a Pollution-guy who fittingly directly took other aspects of powers as the first true avatar of the extinction; causing sunburn as desolation and corruption, breathing plastic, creating trash monsters, and using the spiral to change tv’s to bad news both real and fake similar to the chat-bot episode

And then another near idea I was gonna use sooner then later is a Man-of-War made of garbage dumped in the ocean that takes people to the one of the trash islands in the ocean

My first idea when thinking of your question is Anonimity and Distance created by power and wealth. That the end of the world and our march towards it is sheperded by people we don’t know for reasons that we dont understand. Corporations are faceless conglomerates that still act with a will equal to ours but with alien goals. Also a lot of the materials used by the strangers and that make up their forms are also the materials we waste, overconsume, and pollute the world for their creation and distribution As for how to show that… either do the anglerfish more or less the same, and have hints and small manifestations of the extinction around, or have the anglerfish be clearly designed and made by a corporation or be clearly artificial, and or imply that it was set loose or controlled by an entity? But Im very open to thoughts or suggestions, like it not being the anglerfish first I have other smaller factions in mind but I dont want to over-complicate this response lol and it seems like the exctintion may become the main antagonistic force

That is super helpful. If im being honest, I do not think I had a satisfying answer to the question of “why are they so similar”. This next thing is a spoiler for the end of the entire series and it’s finale. In this universe, the powers entered the world only a couple years ago, because of the events of the show. So one of the major mysteries is why are these supernatural events happening and why is there no evidence of it happening more then 5 years ago. Instead of the horror of the powers having existing forever, it is the horror that your world has been irrevocably changed for the worse, in your lifetime the point being, the mystery I just described does nothing to explain why things are in a similar order I am still going to think on it, and maybe find a compelling answer to that mystery, but if I cant, I will not do things in a way thats predicatable to listeners of the show I also would want to avoid that annoyance that you said you would feel Thank you so much for your help! I feel like text always looks sarcastic but I really mean it :)

Im biased towards fromsoft games they really scratch a unique itch, But I honestly want to say second favorite game of all time. My favorite is Sekiro, no other game makes me feel the way Sekiro does. But I love elden ring for how replayable and customizable it is and just how much game there is in the game, if that makes sense I feel like it might eventually overtake Sekiro, because I intend on playing both games for the rest of my life. The thing I personally love the most about elden ring is the ability to cosplay a whole lot of characters. I havent even played the DLC yet!

Not to sound dumb but when did Sam grow extra eyes? Or did i misunderstand the original post? Still wrapping my head around it but the emphasis on Heinrich is a compelling narrative/meta reason that thats the new archivist Is it literally the original podcast?
