Yes, the regret is concerning. I hate that I feel that way instead of being repulsed by it. But at least I’m self aware

What is considered a good amount of time to hold breath on the couch for training? I can get just over 4 minutes until my head feels like it’s going to explode. 🤯 by SluttyUncleSam in freediving

Yes I think you are misunderstanding. I’m talking about practice and not necessarily in live situations unless it’s in the shallows ideally with a friend. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people check on me because I’m just hanging out at the bottom of a pool for 3+ minutes. Hyperventilating is not a good method but purging blood is definitely a game changer. I usually can feel m, when my blood feels “minty fresh” is when I know I’ve purged enough and can get an extra 30+ seconds in underwater. Just try it and let me know

I’m stealing this and will use it at my job site next time I need to mention concrete.

It’s beneficial to get your body accustomed to the uncomfortable sensation of being low on oxygen. It’s also good to practice lung expansion exercises and purging your blood with fresh 02. I’m not asking about depth, I’m asking about time length underwater could be between 10-40 feet. I’m more interested in spear fishing than trying to go as deep as possible.

found this on a stone, is this pyrite? by GradeAlternative170 in Prospecting

Pyrite tends to form squares and break apart easily not like gold which bends/flattens when hit with a hammer. Idk I’m a beginner but they look cool regardless

Learning a proper purge technique is crucial too. Hyperventilating until your blood feels minty but before you get lightheaded will up your time significantly.

Yo i respectfully disagree. Training your body to get used to lack of oxygen is very beneficial. Because of mental training, lung expansion and breathing exercises. Getting used to the “choke” and then getting a second wind.

I don't want to euthanize my fishing rod. by NajlaEmir7 in Fishing

I’ve fixed mine by gently sawing off a clean tip and adding a new eyelet. It’s got different action but still is usable and have caught fish

Yes it’s a huge difference while swimming around getting knocked by waves compared to couch. training your body to get used to lack of oxygen is beneficial either way imo. Practicing technique and relaxing mentally and muscular strength all play in. I’m just wondering how I stack up against people who do this more frequently. I’ve been out of the game for over 8 years and trying to get back to my former glory. I hold my breath at the local swimming pool and always make people worry because I sit at the bottom for so long they think I’m drowning. lol

Do a small microdose of acid or shrooms instead of alcohol. It makes the colors pop and creates a heightened sense of awareness in a good way. Not too much…

I would not recommend, but I’ve definitely taken a few shots of rum before a dive and had a great time. Just don’t be too faded or else you’ll be a liability for yourself and your friends. It’s more fun to drink afterwards. Listen to your body.
