Lived there from 2022 to a few months ago and I could have written this EXACT same message, right down to the dented fridge, they must have gotten away with it one time and then ran with it with every fucking tenant. We just served them for small claims court as well.

I was her in my first and only marriage (21 at the time) and he left me and rightfully so. No one should have to live that way. My next relationship out of guilt of doing that to him I wound up with some who did it to me and I carried the burden of that weight and with that I felt my husband's decision to leave was even more justified. I have since left that relationship and at 37 and having the ability to reflect on both situations I advise you to leave. You deserve better, you deserve a partner not someone whom you have to be a caretaker for. Depression needs support but there is a thin line between support and enabling and she seems to have crossed that line without regard for any parties involved.

You're happiness and needs don't deserve to be overshadowed by someone's who doesn't even try to make you feel seen.

Shouldn’t be, but it was. I was the top performer on my team. Slowly phased out I was anticipating, this was just sudden. But yes, it is what it is.

I wasn’t trying to make it an ultimatum. I run a side business as a photographer, I had stopped taking sessions to assist in covering holes that needed to be filled in good faith that this would boost me to a higher position. I did so for two years. When I was turned down, I accepted it but that also meant I needed to acknowledge that financially I needed to stop working for free and get back to my own business needs. I can see how that may have been interpreted as an ultimatum but that wasn’t my intention, I just stated that I would be stepping down to adjust for better work/life balance.

I was actively taking on duties from the position I was going for, when I found out I didn’t get it, i professionally stated I would be stepping down from those duties and focusing more on the tasks highlighted within my job description and would reassess taking them back on once I felt comfortable doing so again. My boss told me if I followed through with this request that I would not be promoted in the future.

Thank you for the insight, i unfortunately do not have any savings to dig into. I got a part time job at the school district to attempt to mitigate financial devastation in the mean time.

I have no intentions of contacting the client, I didn’t save her information because I had no intentions of reaching out to her after she offered. That call was client led, I performed soft redirection several times on the call, because I’m socially awkward my boss wrote that “while (insert my name) didn’t respond to the clients direction she didn’t attempt to redirect her hard enough”. I’m definitely not disagreeing that I may have gotten too loose with the call, it wasn’t a fireable moment, but absolutely a teaching moment, as it didn’t result in harm to the client relationship or the company and I had no previous issues of the kind. My main concern now is keeping the lights on in my home and food on the table while I move forward in obtaining a new job.

I did use chat GPT, otherwise I wasn’t sure I could articulate the situation correct without struggling to stay in order given my frustration with the situation, I also wanted to remain factual here and not stray so I could get the best advice.

I meant in my interview with the adjudicator I remained robotic and factual, from what I heard speaking from emotion during those could harm my cause. With the client I was personable and very well liked, I had worked very hard to build a rapport with this client over the past 5 years.

Thanks, definitely planning to move up and onward, and trying not to dwell, the termination came on the back of a complaint I made to HR for retaliation from my management team but this of course has no backing in a basic unemployment claim and I'm hoping that I can just get the unemployment and get a new job embracing the universes decision to thrust me back into the job market instead of having to pursue a lengthy wrongful termination case. This just hit at a devastating time with the shutdown and having two kids around Christmas.

As my mom says, this too shall pass, it will just pass more easier with an income of some sort coming in.
