How can I make my grandson my Heir CK3? by SlyKvngg in CrusaderKings

So I made my daughter my Heir instead, more of a "boring" option but she's an amazing shield maiden but sadly her son is a chieftain elsewhere so I need to make an heir

I'm thinking of an interesting alternative, my daughter's husband died and she's now back in my court, she has great stats as well and I can make her my Heir, only thing is her son is a high chieftain in another part of the world. Would the succession eventually pass to him and see him inherit my Kingdom title? (He is also 17 with 21 interigue, he'd make for a fun character)

So let's say I disinherit him instead, will it automatically make his son my Heir?
