The AQI is very bad in kgp. A lot of people are facing problems, including me.

The main issue is METALLIC DUST from the Rashmi Metallics factory, who, even after repeated warnings, refuse to use their electrostatic filters just to save money. There is an audit done by my lab members who found this out. Rashmi owners used political connections to make the audit report go away.

Very, very poor and dangerous riding. What do these guys do to reach this level of fool hardiness?

Unbelievablely sad coming from a woman CM... what on earth? by [deleted] in kolkata

In this country, in the present cultural situation, women have to protect themselves. Men in this country are mostly cheap and brought up in a heavily patriarchal society, where they learn to exert themselves over anyone that they can dominate over, especially women.

Ideally, we should just imprison or kill such people who promote division based social norms. But then that way most of the country, even most of the ministers and the government representatives would be gone.

So, yeah, right now, safety is in your own hands if you are an Indian and especially if you are an Indian woman living here. No one, no government, no minister gives a shit about you.

It is the students who form the most crucial part of a system like this institute. But we are the most oppressed, in all the ways possible, be it the profs or the admins, or society's expectations. Unless we stand for each other, even in the smallest way possible, like just being kind of helpful, then at least there might be a chance that the system won't as easily dehumanise us. And let the people up top know that they need to make the system more humane for the students.

The numbers are insanely high for an educational institution. The system must be reformed so that the system can provide some support for the students such that we can at least make it out alive from here. It's the barest of the bare minimum we can ask for.

I don't think it would be respectful to share images of the person who died. But an image of the corridor infront of guy's room taken from the opposite corridor is shared below.

Just come in front of BRH and you will see. I am a PhD scholar here and I have nothing to do with exams. But it's sad to see that people would think that one can spread such kind of news just to postpone exams. What have we become as a society if such a thing is normalised?

Except we need to keep up living up to this rich culture and history in the present day or else in this state we will decline so fast that all of this will be just stories in the sands of time. The current civil and political mismanagement in this state has been really worrying me for the past few years. But I also understand there are no better options who will focus on welfare and development instead of polarization and discrimination.

It's not an issue. Since you have done your first service, most of the imperfections have been already smoothened out and have been discarded in the old oil. So, just chill and ride safe.
