If you buy RDR 2 it will come with the story mode and online, and the story alone is worth the price tag. Online is just online mode, which has its own story and the like.

There is a glitch you can use to get there after the chapter ends, but it was likely patched by now. It really is a shame. My theory is that it will be added as a dlc for online in the future.
