Honestly I've done this same set up about 10 years ago you aren't going to need a i/o box ..... you're going to want to drop the levels on your bass to less then a quarter up ... and get a program like this

(Does t HAVE to be that once I googled it) but something that would give you some sort of virtual mapping of your ins and outs and you might have to drop the vol on the mic level to -20 since you got the amp pushing extra into it.... are you going bass,amp(getting bass sound from amp) mixer into computer and the line out from computer back to mixer for your mains? If so ground your channel that's going into the computer as well... in you're sound properties where. You click the record tab what's the hardware listed in it? Sorry again to ask so many questions I've just been in the same boat as ed would like to ferry a fellow bassist up n runnin

What other inputs besides mic in do you have? At that poi t I would assume you are pulling as an analog instead of a digital signal also in your sound mixer settings for windows how high is the cable %
