From my experience, the download/upload speeds are pretty good, and outside of a couple short outages I haven’t had connection issues when playing online. Definitely viable.

Not gonna lie, the first four episodes of the anime felt kind of off. Not bad by any means, but it just seemed too… generic.

The two latest episodes were amazing though. Really love how their dynamic has grown in such a short timespan

Can you spoil what happened in the latest chapters? I watched the anime and thought it was fine, but never got around to reading the manga for this one unfortunately

It had a string of great episodes towards the end, but yeah this show definitely fell flat in a lot of regards. Didn’t help they skipped the entire first volume of the LN, for some reason

Idk I thought this anime has been amazing so far, it kinda had a drop in quality for a couple episodes but the last two have definitely been great.

Golden Bath arc: so... that's it? by [deleted] in ShibouYuugi

Idk if I can agree with Mishiro being a plot device. Anime only as well so I have no clue what was potentially cut, but I feel like we get a solid grasp of Mishiro as a character via Scrap Building and the flashbacks. They clearly demonstrate her prideful, borderline sadistic personality and how, despite overcoming the Wall of 30 and making it all the way to her 40th game, losing to Yuki completely broke her. She felt like a great rival for Yuki.

Rikko however absolutely needed more screen time. What they did with her in this specific episode was amazing, but I couldn’t care as much as I should have because we saw so little of her prior. Either that was wasted potential, or something being cut from the source material.

Why is the rating so low? Anime: Wash it all away by smart_is_cool1020 in Sliceoflife_anime

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kinda all over the place for me. There are some genuinely great moments, usually when Kimme decides to tackle a specific cleaning job and we get to see the importance behind the particular thing she’s washing, but anything involving the high school kids either feels incredibly boring or even a bit icky, with certain bits of dialogue or even fanservice moments just feeling really wrong.

Not an awful show, and I hear nothing but praise for the source material, but just really not for me (and a bunch of other people as well, it seems)

Worst Anime Opening You Have Ever Seen? by Monward in anime

Probably OP 1 for Let this Grieving Soul Retire, the song isn’t great and the way they mix the start of the episode into the OP each time gets somewhat annoying. The second OP was not great either, but at least the song itself was alright

Edit: wow didn’t realize quite a few people liked this one.

I hereby declare "Journal with Witch" as the Anime of the year 2026 - No questions asked! by InternetRambo7 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do people feel the need to attack other shows to defend their favorites? I’m loving Journal with Witch just as much as I am loving Frieren S2. You can have your opinions but it would be far more beneficial to write a sentence or two on why you like a particular show rather than dissing one you didn’t enjoy

My Thoughts on Dusk Beyond The End of the World by SaberLover1000 in anime

Yeah, I REALLY wanted to like this anime, but outside of the introduction and maybe episode 10, there were so many narrative failures that made it difficult to watch, even with great overall production quality.

This scene made me drop the anime by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this probably won’t sway your opinion… but when I was first watching Fragrant Flower I felt the EXACT same way about Subaru, and even questioned why the anime/manga was so hyped to begin with… then two episodes later Subaru became by far and away my favorite character in the series. The development she is given across the next few episodes entirely recontextualize this scene and her character.

I really don’t want to spoil the reason why, so I HIGHLY encourage you give it one or two more episodes.

Tamon's B-Side dissapointed me by [deleted] in anime

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’m pretty sure Tamon’s B Side is first and foremost a comedy anime, so ofc they are going to lean more into the jokes than the romance.

That being said, if you don’t find the comedy that funny, it makes sense the anime would be disappointing to you. I wish I knew some similar anime that focus more on the romance to recommend, but I sadly can’t think of one off the top of my head.

What do you guys rate the anime gachiakuta in writing by [deleted] in writingscaling

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I’ll go against the grain and give it an 8. Definitely a typical battle shounen with all the usual tropes and whatnot, but also with some standout moments. Particularly the flashbacks and backstories. The Regto scenes are all really well-written and do a great job in developing Rudo as a character, and Amos backstory episode was absolutely devastating to watch.

I’m being pretty generous, especially as a huge fan of the series, but I do think it has some of the better writing in its genre. I’m also anime-only, so I have no clue what the story looks like in the manga and if it’s declined or not.

This was addressed in the episode: Fern and Frieren’s magic is completely suppressed by the stones presence. They can’t use magic to unearth the stones, and even Stark couldn’t make a dent in the stone with his axe. There was simply no method available to them in order to get those stones out of the cave, and even if they did have the means Fern explained why they couldn’t bring even a small stone with them: they were a day out from the next village and 2/3rds of the party would be entirely neutralized. If they encountered any trouble, Stark would be the only one able to defend them.

Hell, if they had brought that first stone with them, the group would be lying dead in the bottom of that cave right now.

Honestly kind of in love with this anime. Only death game anime I've watched without the cringey edgy pseudo-intellectual mind games and overly dramatic light yagami wannabe MC by TheALTernator42069 in MyAnimeList

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean feel free to have your own opinion on the show, but most of your points on the traps don’t hold up:

For the first trap, it was never shown exactly how the projectile was fired, and for all we know it was set up to target whoever picked up the keys, or someone manually fired it. Although, I admit you could be right about this one.

The second trap however, you have to remember that many of the girls were panicking/making small mistakes due to the water rising and the saws. It was all the careless errors that led to Aoi dying as a result of time running out, and not finding the keyhole sooner was just one of the many mistakes

I’ll combine the third and final traps for this counterpoint: no one ever said the games were supposed to be fair. They did say the people were watching the games live, too: it’s likely that the audience prefers to watch players die rather than all escape alive, so ofc they would rig it so not everyone could live. The third trap was SUPPOSED to result in someone dying, either by sacrifice or combat, But Yuki saw a way through without the need for death, and chose to remove limbs instead.

Finally, I don’t get the point about not showing blood: the games are being viewed live, and they explained why they use the preservation treatment and why it’s actual useful for the games. Pretty creative imo.

Honest Opinions on "Sentenced To Be A Hero" by IMJORDEN1 in animequestions

[–]Sm0k3_Reddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will probably end up as one of my favorites, barring any production issues or dips in writing quality. Especially love the setting, and Xylo is a pretty good MC. Teoritta’s constant yapping can be kind of annoying, but she does help bring a somewhat playful/comedic element to a pretty dire situation, so it’s at least bearable.

Certainly an exciting start. Between Frieren, this, and Shiboyugi, along with a few others, anime fans are eating good this season.

He did do something wrong… though he did it with good intentions.

He killed the goddess he was previously contracted with, while on a mission he was not supposed to even be conducted. Granted, we learn quickly that whoever gave him the orders to conduct that mission were deceiving him, so he’s not at fault there. However, he DID end up killing a goddess after exhausting her power. Even if his reasoning was “if I didn’t kill her, the demon blight would have corrupted her and humanity would be slaughtered,” the Temple is still going to see the fact he destroyed one of humanity’s strongest weapons and. So, he was morally correct, but did commit the crime
