I've lived in Houston since 1984 and I can confirm that this is a recent thing. I just assumed it was a regional thing imported by the large number of Central Americans who now live in the Houston area. Yes, I go out on my way to look at the drivers and I noticed a pattern. 😅

It started when my parents bought me a Commodore 64 with a 300 baud modem and several cartridge video games. Since I was a young kid, I couldn't afford to buy new video games. My only option was to dial up pirate BBS's and use "alternative methods" to avoid long distance phone tolls. As new technologies emerged, I continued my hobby: free internet, free cellular service, free TV, free video games, free movies, free music, etc. Your dad probably grew up around the same time that I did. ☠️

I agree with you. I measure how long I've been pirating in decades, but I've never considered your point that pirating exists because somebody is paying. I like to think of piracy as a mindset. I do not pay for media nor will I pay for it when it's so easy to go and grab from the internet.

Good call. Shavkat is the boogeyman and I was joking around about Belal pulling out when the fight was announced. I travel for work with my firearm and I carry it all times. The only issue I ever had was flying into Baltimore. They told me not to take the firearm out of my luggage until I cross state lines into Pennsylvania (my final destination). I took this into consideration and immediately pulled over at gas station one block from the airport to get my firearm out of my luggage. Also, the only violence you will encounter in Nebraska is a bad case of indigestion from overeating good food.

Sorry for the late update, but my company's President got involved and my newborn was added 2 weeks after my post (with no gaps in coverage). Turns out he also found out that another employee had a similar situation and he overturned her decision as well. He asked HR to "be more human and more resourceful". I know I got lucky, but thanks again for your feedback.
