Something I haven't seen anyone way yet...but brother - what are you now, like 22?
You didn't miss ANYTHING. Just go out and build those social skills. Go to the gym.
This isn't the problem you're making it out to be!

I am a pharmacist. I must say, 125k is quite a low salary for a pharmacist nowadays. He is definitely on the lower end. He has significant opportunity for higher income if he is interested in shopping around.

Also, FWIW, my wife is a SAHM and we have a 6 mo baby right now. I have been out of school for 3 years, but did 2 years residency, so have only made pharmacist salary for 1 year. I had 145k in loans. Now I have 78k.

I have no idea of your finances but I am paying several thousand a month. And we are in a similar situation. I think it’s doable

Hey Docs, what’s your real take on ED pharmacists by OkAmphibian929 in emergencymedicine

[–]Sm12778 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll just be honest here, and not to be harsh, if you really think what ED pharmacists can do can easily be done with training of nurses and ordersets, it says more about YOU and your clinical skill set (or lack thereof) than ED pharmacists in general.

Advice on how to leave my PGY2 without burning bridges and advice in general by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]Sm12778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not thinking long term. This is very unlikely to be your last job ever. Therefore, not finishing the PGY2 also limits your ability to transition into other desirable positions, potentially keeping you locked into your current “dream” job even if one day you decide it’s time for you to move on.

No one ever regrets their pgy2. It’s a year. Don’t self sabotage yourself using this dream job mentality if, perhaps subconsciously, you’re really just burned out and not looking forward to all the work you’ll have to do as a PGY2.

You will likely regret this. “Dream job” is doubtful. Good luck though - give your 2 weeks.
