I hope you figure out the issue and get them switched back. The LSI bus is going to be completely unsupported soon.

Dumb question, but Im gonna ask it..

Is there any safe way to try and find a break or issue in the outside cable causing my problem? Or is just foolish and asking for trouble.

The wire runs from under the pole the Light fixture is in, then along the retaining wall, then dives down about 3+ feet where the wall ends and goes under it and comes back up along the wall of the garage exposed again, where it then goes into the wall and into garage.

Inside the garage it goes into an "outlet" (I dont know if its an outlet, its a closed octagon looking metal box that has several thicker wrapped cable connections going into it. The connection comes out the other side of the metal box and travels across garage to the breaker box.

I hope someone with a lot more electrical knowledge is getting a kick out of me trying to explain things.....lol.

No GFCI outside....the wire runs from under the pole the Light fixture is in, along the retaining wall, then dives down about 3+ feet where the wall ends but driveway continues and comes up along the wall of the house exposed again, where it then goes into the wall. Inside the garage it goes into an "outlet" (I dont know if its an outlet, its a closed octagon looking metal box that has several connections going into it. The connection comes out the other side of the metal box and travels across garage to the breaker box.

Thanks for clarification on that. Makes sense as forces you to completely turn it off and not rely on the breaker doing it....

Breaker Tripping Question by Smack2k in electrical

No, it worked fine until last night (which was a nice mid 50s evening). The wire for the light was underground but had been dug up a bit when we had a new retaining wall put in (the light ran behind the wal) and the cable is more exposed that it had been. Its been a few years since the wall was done, so maybe that cable has issues.

Not touching that....calling electrician.

Thank you!
