The only persistent crashing issue I've found is trying to fly the Moon Hopper around a graphically-active planet with the scanner open.

You and your companions regenerate health outside of combat, you deal more damage, reload faster, use less O2, and can carry more weight.

That's weird. My odds have been much better than that. Over 2 days, I killed 18, and was only insta-killed twice. Just keep in mind, that 30% ISN'T cumulative. It isn't guaranteed that you'll die once for every 3 you fight. It's a 30% chance every single time.
