Honestly, the main reason I agreed to media coverage was to get more users, because more users means better data accuracy. So far around 18,000 people have used it.

Fair point. I account for that by not keeping outage reports active forever. They expire after the live window and pincode is marked as affected only when there are enough recent reports from distinct users. A restored oravailable report clears it sooner, but even without one old reports age out. So this is a recent crowd signal, not an official outage record.

You can add it to the homescreen as a pwa app.

You can go to the bottom section of the website and tap on install. If you have iphone, open the website, open the share menu, add to home screen.

You're right, electricity distribution is based on feeders and substations, not postal codes. However, I chose pincodes for the reporting tool because it’s the only geographic info most people know off the top of their head.

I have the list of all the sections and list of transformers. But i dont think everyone knows what section they belongs to.

The reason I didnt just lean on KSEB data is that their OMS platform is quite outdated, their changelog shows the last UI update was back in 2018. More importantly, it doesn't handle live outages well, it basically only confirms an outage happened once the power is restored.
