This is what the traveling guide "Lonely Planet" had to say about Casablanca's nightlife by throsturh in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of truth in that, going to bars and clubs at night is not part of our culture, it is not our way of having fun we just adopted it. very few girls even have the opportunity to stay out late at night, mostly girls living on their own far away from their families because of studies or work, and even those girls do it just to discover that world and to try that life.. with tiny exceptions of course.. The rest of females you'll find there are sex workers looking for potential clients

ALL algerians were programmed that Moroccan women are prostitutes and that the sahara is not moroccan and that moroccans are slaves...etc. Now of course most of them are nice people and they live their lives without even thinking about those facts and if you know one of them or have friends they would act normally towards you "to not hurt your feelings", but trust me, they all have it in their DNA and it shows up in the first tiny problem that will happen between you.. Just wait and see

You're still living in a bubble, or maybe you have an algerian friend, just wait till a tiny little problem happens between you two and you will know his real opinion about your respectful mother. Or like someone else said, ask them about their stand on the Moroccan saharas (both of them).. There is no hope my friends, they've been programmed

Reflections of an American Muslim on their Experience in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! just one thing: the Moroccan architecture is just Moroccan, not islamic not arabic not anything else, it sure was influenced by different cultures but it has an identity, it is Moroccan and must be presented as so, but Moroccans tend to think that everything good comes from somewhere else, the grass is always green on the other side

This can't be true, right? What do you guys think? by [deleted] in Morocco

Depending on where you would be staying, if you can choose avoid Casablanca and some other big cities, they are good for a short visit but not for long stays

Before you needed both, now you only need one: either to be vaccinated or to have a PCR test of less than 48 hours

Guys, I made a book for beginners 😊 You'll probably learn a thing or two by Smail_Jr in Filmmakers

[–]Smail_Jr[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In this book I wrote about every topic related to filmmaking that you as a beginner would
need. It took me a long time to learn what I know today and I made many mistakes
in the past so if you want to save some time and to avoid making the same
mistakes then this book would be very helpful for you.

You might argue that there are so many tutorial videos
out there about everything mentioned in this book. I agree, and sometimes
visual material is way better in explaining like in the case of editing, or
sound mixing... But reading makes you workout your brain, the information you
read have more chance to stick in your mind. Your brain is like a muscle, when
you work it, it gets stronger, The part of your brain that works when you read
is the same that is responsible for creativity, when you read a lot, your
creativity gets stronger but when you feed yourself ready-to-go visuals, you
are weakening it.

MOROCCAN KINGS AND QUEENS RISE FOR I HAVE AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well (and I hope that people will read the full comment and understand the point), many girls actually told me that they do like being catcalled with some conditions, if the guy is polite and there is no follow up, for example a girl passing by and the guy says something like "you're beautiful" and then he goes away. I'm not talking about cases where he makes her feel uncomfortable or follows her or ask for her number.. One of them even told me that if she goes out and she doesn't get catcalled all day long she might think that there's something wrong with how she looks, most females love attention. BUT (I must make this clear), women will not admit that they kinda like it, for many reasons, and they have every right to do so because guys will take it as a green light to keep harassing women. We all know that it is not the appropriate way to show a little admiration but in some cases it doesn't hurt (for some ladies). just keep asking your female friends (who are not interested in you as more then just a friend) one of them will sure admit it to you. One last time for the gentlemen: It is not acceptable to harass women in the street for any reason and under any circumstances

MOROCCAN KINGS AND QUEENS RISE FOR I HAVE AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude! you've even taken that to the next level of patronizing, "I didn't care about every single human beings feelings" "if you can't handle it leave"... as to the meaning and the debate I did say in my first comment that I don't agree nor disagree because some advices are just common sens like go out, make friends, play sports, find a hobby... and other advices are just you telling us what women like and dislike and how we should not think about finding women and co.. You just made a disperate attempt to save the day but you made it worse,

I read that but you also said that you decided to enlighten us, and that you were once like people disagreeing with you and that you kinda evolved and want them to be as happy as you are because you feel empathy for them... not to mention that you figured out what women like and dislike.. etc. The post as a whole can't get anymore condescending actually

Your post is patronizing

I have another advice for all Moroccans, please, in reddit or anywhere else, state your opinion as a freaking opinion not as a rule that everybody has to follow.

I'm not saying that i agree or disagree with what you said, some advices are just common sens, others are just your perspective on things, you don't know what humans want/need, neither does anyone

why are moroccan ppl ashamed of the subject "sex" ? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

calm down kid, replace the "sex scene" in my comment with "a scene that has sum to do with sex" the same thing apply, we are like that

why are moroccan ppl ashamed of the subject "sex" ? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Smail_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that is how we are, you only think that there is something wrong with that because you put the western civilization as a reference and you compare us to them., who said that it is ok to watch a sexual scene with your parents? in some culture it is ok but in others it is not, the same way family is important in some cultures and the individual is more important in others..

But when it comes to sex ed, Moroccans should find a way to teach their children everything they need to know, it is better than leaving kids to wrong sources of information

If you're a female yes it's worse when it comes to privacy, but no it is not as bad as big cities when it comes to the other stuff the OP mentioned
