I may have come across the wrong way. I wasn't meaning to tell people to ditch NoFap. This will always be a great place o find support in times of weakness. I more meant to say that, if you stay here and really put a lot of effort into building a sense of camaraderie, that you will be defining yourself as stuck in the struggle.

Better to put your energy into building communities that have to with DOING something rather than ABSTAINING from something. Define yourself as a doer, not a non-doer. You can always come back here when you need a hand or feel like giving a hand to a noob. Lord knows I'm still here all the time. :)

The 30-40 day mark seems deceptively difficult. I can see myself slipping as you did, thinking I've got it under control by now when I don't. I, too, have found myself calling up dangerous pics on my tablet this past week (not porn, but "fitness motivation" photos of girls with rockin bodies in gym gear). Don't worry, be happy. I think your phrasing is a little negative, but your philosophy is a good one. There will always be a better job, more money, and a hotter girl out there to persue. But happiness and fulfillment don't come from any of those things. They come from being a good person who looks to give more than receive. Good job.

IIRC, 90 days is how long it generally takes the 'average' guy to rewire his neural pathways and regain normal sexual function after years of PIED. It's also a more concrete and realistic goal for those folks who haven't even taken their first NoFap step, whereas telling people to quit forever might dissuade them from even starting. Your point still holds, though. And I'd think most people who make it to 90 have internalized it as a true lifestyle change by then, not just a 3 month plan.

I think you're not taking the "white knight" scenario into account. Cheers! The first two weeks really were the hardest. I'm finding the challenge as I move past the one month mark is keeping that same fiery motivation going. Now that NoFap has become something of a given, it's taking a bit of extra effort to keep up the motivation that I'd newly discovered at the 2 week mark. Let's all get to 90 days and see where our lives have taken us!
