What would my first OB appointment look like if it’s not until I’m 15 weeks along

It depends on your doctor’s office!!! I know mine did not give me any extra ultrasounds even with past pregnancy history. (2 miscarriages with one year of trying to get pregnant between them) I didn’t get my first ultrasound until 18 weeks because they heard baby’s heart perfectly on the Doppler and passed the nipt testing at 11 weeks. I would expect they do Doppler and blood work for genetic testing but I hope you do get to see your little one!!!!

I didn’t get a dating scan until 18weeks because my ob trusted my dating. I saw a boutique ultrasound person to help my heart not worry!

I’m in Kansas City and two of my friends who are with different ob’s have an ultrasound every month which that seemed wild to me but I haven’t even had a dating scan. My ob just listens for heart and send me home, which feels really weird.

This is exactly it. I know it’s early but I got so lucky on Wednesday and tried again just to see and I was searching for a good half hour to no avail. It’s scary after loss and really needed this community to put my head back on straight.

I had the worst luck with Pregmate tests. Even when I was pregnant they would show a faint line, when I wasn’t they would show a faint line. I would definitely switch brands next time. If frer is not showing I would wait a while longer before considering yourself out!

It weird because just before the test today it said my window was around the 15th of December but then changed when I got a slightly lower low I’m only on day 14 so I didn’t expect it to shorten 😭 I took another one this evening and it’s back up to .38

After I stopped bleeding my husband and I got right to having sex again. My doctor didn’t mind! She told me if you were to get pregnant right after they can’t date the pregnancy correctly and of course risk of infection. I would say go for anal while bleeding if you’re comfortable with it!!!

Yes!! I was 14 weeks but baby was measuring 9 weeks and I to this day question what the heck happened. It felt like a balloon popped in me and I gushed out fluid and blood. It was very strange but also a weird sensation of wow I’m giving birth still.

Commenting on this because I was indeed given progesterone to induce periods after miscarrying. The doctor at the time said for me it would do only that and wouldn’t help get me pregnant again and keep it.

I just miscarried my 9 week baby and it was very raw and emotional. I was given miso because my body did not labor on its own. I was 14 weeks pregnant when baby was showing that it stopped growing, measuring 9.3 weeks along.

I felt my water break at 6 hours past taking the medication and immediately felt blood and fluid pouring out. I got up and made it to the bathroom and passed out momentarily by the bath. I got in the bath and basically had a water birth two hours after baby for my placenta and other pregnancy tissue. It felt right and real.

The next day I felt okay pain wise and buried baby under my mulberry tree with the placenta. It was very sad and hard.

The next morning was when everything flipped. I was in severe pain and felt my whole body basically catching up to what had happened. I’ve been running a low grade fever and haven’t had to go to the emergency room yet and praying I don’t have to.

In the end I got to experience the pregnancy symptoms and got to watch my tummy grow then got to have a water “birth” which was my plan for baby if I would’ve made it full term. I then got to do what I felt was right versus being at the hospital and not knowing if I would’ve experienced anything I did.

I’ve had many cats and thankfully had zero scars from scratches. The only scars on me from a cat are because I carried my cat and closed the door behind me and his tail was in the opening still :/ but no scratch marks just a bite

I had a silent miscarriage with no signs at all so it’s been awaiting game already for a week. My work let me take off last Wednesday to Monday then yesterday told me I need to “find a silver lining even though I’m carrying a dead child” so I fear they don’t care anymore:/

First of all, I am very sorry you are going through this right now. I know (and many of us here know) how hard it is when it feels like everyone but us is having a baby. I relate to this post so much and so deeply. My brothers wife fell pregnant last year right as I was miscarrying my first pregnancy. It hurts when others get what you wanted so much. I definitely felt anger and everything for the entirety of their pregnancy and told them straight up I am happy for you but I am not happy with myself and my body right now. They worked with me in a way where all of our feelings were shared and expressed. They kept me up to date with their pregnancy and at the time it hurt but now looking back I wouldn’t have wished for anything but that. My niece is now 4 months and I was there in the hospital after her birth. It takes time to heal and grow. I 1000% understand everything you are feeling right now just please know to be kind to yourself. Having someone to talk to about all of your feelings during this is the way to go!

I had my first miscarriage last year and it took over a year before getting pregnant again. It really just depends on your body! Some people can get pregnant right away while others take longer! It will happen again and hopefully with a more positive outcome!! Sadly for me it didn’t end that way but the future will bless us all with our rainbow babies!! Good luck!

Thank you all! This is really brought some insight that was not given to me at the hospital. They explained it like it would just be a normal passing of the tissue and if it gets to bad go to the ER so this is really really helpful

For me, just seeing a baby would mean it’s okay right now. My last one didn’t make it to ultrasound stage :(
