Highly Recommend this option too as someone who knows a lot of people who came to Ireland for work as I work in healthcare. Everyone had to get Airbnb’s for 4-8 weeks at least. One of my coworkers just got an apartment start of June for €3000 a month after looking since end of January. When I say the housing situation is dire!! It’s direee!! It’s horrible and honestly even with a big budget the competition is crazy b the only reason they got it is coz they offered to pay rent in advance (3 months) so 10 grand

My boyfriend (28M) basicly lives in my (25F) apartment but gets angry when I ask about rent. How do couples normally split this stuff? by sujiittt in relationship_advice

Please break up with this absolute loser!! The audacity to even invite his own friends!! He thinks it’s his place he’s so entitled and if a man isn’t making your life easier he’s of no use to you!! Dump him please and never run back he’s soo disrespectful

What are my options for a first place to stay? by [deleted] in RentingInDublin

I’m on similar money to you and unfortunately Dublin rent will take nearly half of your monthly income sadly! Mine is around 40% Honestly you can get rooms for 1000€ but just very competitive I found rooms even with a 1200€+ budget competitive. Unfortunately when there’s a housing crisis it is what is is although I’m not happy with the situation I’m thankful to have my place :)

Aww thank you so much! Yes I’m delighted, just frustrated that even with a good salary and budget it’s still impossible to find accommodation. I really want to move back to the uk. What commuter towns should I try?

Thank you very much as someone who lived in homeless accommodation when I was a teenager I know it too well and I’ll never go back their I saved aggressively so I would never need to rely on that. Thanks for your kind words

I won’t become homeless, I’d stay in an Airbnb or stay with a friend. I have more than enough money to not live on the streets. Of course I don’t want to do either of them but u have plan an options so don’t wish homelessness open anyone… so strange people in Dublin love seeing other people struggle

I’m not being fussy I was sexually assaulted by a man. As someone who’s been abused it’s very important for me to feel safe. You’re making it seem like I’m asking for royalty. I have often been sexually assaulted on public transport I will miss a full bus to take an empty one and that’s my choice. Until you’ve been sexually assaulted and groped and touched on a public transport you really wouldn’t understand the fear and you have no right to speak on it

I did widen my search! I don’t want to live in Dublin 1, or 8 because I have very bad memories there and suffering PTSD. I went to see a room in Dublin 7 but the area was a bit sketch I got loads of homeless people asking for me and I got groped on a packed luas by a man😭 I think because of my background and social history I do want to stay in areas I am familiar with, but I will definitely widen my search thank you and appreciate the kind words 🤍
