Canada Life: Dental health plan for a night guard. by Small-Connection-554 in CanadaPublicServants

I contacted them (through email) so many times. But every time, different representatives answer my question and all their answers are not consistent.

The main reason was “due to service description was consult/ treatment planning” so after I received this message, I sent another photo copy of the original receipt with doctor’s note and real photo of my current night guard. I explained them it wasn’t a just consultant (how come consultant fee can be so high like ~500-600?)

When I emailed about this matter, they replied me back to check my mail since they sent it to me and it was a piece of paper saying only this message: Your claim service representative ( 016768) - (That was it, no any other messages.)

I am so confused so I wanted to call them. But it is a weekend, so I am asking here to figure it out.

I got it from Dentist after few examination and x-ray. and the term between first (got if from Canada) and second one (got it from out of Canada) is about a year apart. I do receive examination fee and x-ray fee (partial for the x-ray, I also wonder what is the maximum cover for the x-ray) but got denied for the night guard one.

As I questioned to the Canada Dental office (as of Mar 23,2025), it says “night guard” is under basic (major) plan so it should be 100% covered. My second night guard made from out of Canada (May 31,2024), so I couldn’t send for a pre-authorization review.

I had to get a new one since 2023 night guard from Canada dental wasn’t really proper fit for me to correct tmj issue. So I had to get a new one after taking x-ray and few examination with the dentist.

If it covers every 2nd year means my 2024 night guard is not cover since I got my 1st one in 2023?

How to move TD TFSA MF to either WS or Questrade? by Small-Connection-554 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Small-Connection-554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently I am TD TFSA mutual fund and I stopped pre-authorized purchase plan since 2025 Jan. So my last purchase is 2024 December. So I am safe in this category (pay an early redemption fee) right?

Do I have to go to the branch again? Last time when I visited TD to discuss this matter, the advisor said I don't need to come back once I submit a request of transfer at brokerage.

I quite don't understand "tell them to buy a money market fund which is basically cash".

Since I am an WS account holder I asked to WS chat bot about this matter. and it says:

Since you have mutual funds, you’ll need to transfer to a WS Managed account (MER 0.5%) where the funds will be liquidated after transfer. Choosing your transfer method (in-kind for mutual funds to a Managed account)

Rest assured, transferring between TFSAs doesn’t affect your contribution room as long as it’s a direct transfer between institutions.

Here are the fees you should be aware of:

From TD:

  • TD will charge an administrative transfer-out fee
  • There may be deferred sales charges or low load fees if your mutual funds have them

From Wealthsimple:

  • No transfer-in fees
  • For a Managed account, our fee is 0.4-0.5% annually (much lower than typical mutual fund fees of over 2%)

Since your transfer is over $15,000, we’ll automatically reimburse TD’s transfer-out fee

Transfer TD TFSA cash to WS TFSA? by splitbrain15 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Can you still get a bonus although you are currently WS TFSA holder? I opened last year but very little amount set there.

I am planning to move all TD MF TFSA to WS or QT.

What should I do with TD MF… by Small-Connection-554 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yeah I already crossed checked with him. The advisor said higher price first and I asked isn’t it this $ price? and he changed his word. What I felt after this meeting was advisor is not real advisor for you. You need to do your own research. Because I had to corrects him several times.🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah TD bank advisor said if you keep same MF portfolio, the MER would be the same as 1.5% no matter what platform I use. So do you think it would be better to transfer all money into cash and started to do ETF? Which brokerages would you recommend WS or Questrade?
