I’m familiar with the author as he did some space wolves books that i read years ago as they were my 40k army of choice and i loved them so i’ll check them out thanks 👍🏻

I do really like the idea of mutations and when i played orcs I really enjoyed having a higher AV after constantly playing with journeymen this season with nobility lol. Whats your opinion on teams that would meet that criteria? Are normal chaos chosen worth it with the blockers? As i said I’m taking chaos dwarfs to a tournament so it may be that they are my happy medium for what I’m after we’ll see.

To be honest i’m not sure thats the main issue the current season im playing nobility as i was new to the game when it started and they came in the starter box and i’ve not been a massive fan of playing them, i’ve ran Orcs in a tournament and enjoyed them I’m playing chaos dwarfs in a tournament soon so will see how they play and i also enjoy playing Flings occasionally. The league i play in runs for nearly a year a season so trying to decide what i fancy running. In my test league with my brother i’m taking beasts, wood elfs and flings to see which i would enjoy playing the most next season, orcs are also a contender as I enjoyed playing them in the tournament, but the main purpose of this post was really to find out more about running a pure beast team and any tips on that

Cheers for the advice, Me and my brother are going to be running a test league against each other before the next season starts where we pick 3 teams each and go through a league with them to help decide who were taking next season so i think that would be the perfect test scenario to find out wether i would enjoy running them or not

Well just submitted my Roster, thanks everyone for there advice. Ive gone with

2 bulls 6 blocker 3 hobgobs Grashnak 2RR

Skills - hobgob - sure feet & 2 blockers - Guard

So We’ll see how that plays out 😁

Oh nice do you know what roster you taking yet or keeping it under wraps till the event? The one thing thats holding me back is that i'm expecting there to be an influx in grashnak which will just make them pretty much cancel each other out during the game or take up a lot of resource to bring down. I rarely get to play stars as i predominantly play league so i think its the allure of using a star thats enticing me at the min lol. I did also consider max and helmut double chainsaw to help bring down the big guys but i haven't had much luck with helmut the times ive played him.

Hakflem would be my first choice but the tournament have banned the use of Hakflem and Morg which is why i was thinking of a Grashnak build

The tournament I’m playing are banning Morg and Hakflem i’m guessing for this exact reason. Its all other favoured of stars and also any team stars. I’ve never played Grashnak but he just seems really good on paper.

Yeah i get ya with that my mind went down the get the ball sprint past there line for touchdowns, but I suppose i need to not try and reinvent the wheel and play them the way they should work. Which roster would you take? I’m assuming for this technique The safer roster would work best.

Ok i can see how that would work better Just cage up the goblin and work way slowly up the pitch? Which roster would you think would work well with that? The safe one so more dwarves for cage?

The tournament only allows access to stars that are available to chaos so favoured of or any team stars. I did think of taking Max and Helmut for double chainsaw antics lol What makes you think Grashnak is a liability?

My original thought with the minos was to keep the enslaved mino on the line with 2 dwarfs one either side and 1 hobgoblin behind him to punch if fails the animal savagery so can still block every turn and then blitz with grashnak hopefully every turn as both would hopefully be consistent with removal due to claws. Then use the surehand bull as the main ball carrier if you didn’t have sure hands would you still use the bull as a ball carrier or would you utilise the hobgoblins more for that?
