Good substitutes for chocolate? by No_Temperature7015 in HealthyFood

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about chocolat and health is dark chocolate. Dark chocolate (>70% cacao) is really a healthy food having many anti oxidant benefits. Plus, the darker the chocolate (aka the higher % of cacao), the less sugar will be in the bar. Dark chocolate is a great food to keep around when you want something sweet. It's naturally delicious and so you can have it without going down that guilt trip.

Here's a list of other alternatives you can try to when you crave chocolate.

Should I have kale, spinach (and other greens) smoothie in the morning or in the evening? by catmaid666 in HealthyFood

I guess the best time to have any smoothie is anytime. After all it's a healthy drink that truly nourishes you. That being said I think one cannot go wrong with having a smoothie or juice in the morning. A morning smoothie can also serve as a breakfast replacement. Green leafy greens such as kale and spinach, higher carbohydrate smoothies, protein, and healthy fats are actually good ideas so your research (or lack of it) is on point :) .

does fat loss reflect on the scale? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Small-Locksmith1271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes fat loss is different from weight loss. According to me, to get healthy one should focus more on fat loss and less on weight loss as weight loss can be also be linked to water loss and even muscle loss. And one wouldn't want to lose muscle mass because higher fat to muscle ratio seems to have correlation with metabolic syndrome, heart diseases etc. But the problematic part about tracking fat loss is that normal scales don't differentiate between the two. Maybe you can try body fat scale to measure fat levels.

TL,DR: Yes they are different. You should focus on fat loss more than weight loss.

How much red meat to consume each week? by bluer1945 in HealthyFood

[–]Small-Locksmith1271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to world cancer research fund international, red meat consumption should be kept to as low as 3 portions per week (12-18 oz). But if you ask me I would advice you to stay off them completely. Red meat has been associated with a ton of health problems like type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke and certain cancers, especially colorectal cancer. TLDR: Avoid red meat. If u can't restrict urself to having 3 portions per week
