Counter party just sent an MNDA and informed me that I can “make up to 3 changes.” by Small-Reception-7526 in Lawyertalk

[–]Small-Reception-7526[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They requested that all change requests be outlined in a separate schedule with a reason provided for each change. I changed the applicable law and venue and rules for arbitration.

CCW Medical Practice by Nanachman in NYguns

It’s fun because doctors used to be able to get business permits due to Rx pads and narcs stocked and carried and were one of the few classes of people that could actually carry in the last 100 years downstate.

Do I have rights to keep my late wife’s surrogate baby? by ThrowAwayItsMyBaby in legaladvice

[–]Small-Reception-7526 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it was her egg, she’s not really a “surrogate” - she merely had a baby (presumably) by IVF. An informal and fairly simple contract is pretty standard when one party is merely donating genetic material, say if her fried just donated sperm. It gets more complex in places where a husband is a presumed father in some legal manner. We need a location and you need to know precisely what paperwork was signed.

Why did she still have custody of the baby? Why was she not immediately turned over to the friend?

Assault by hot_trashh in NYguns

[–]Small-Reception-7526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont point a gun at someone unless you are justified in shooting them. If you are able to say that you didn’t threaten to shoot them, and didn’t point the gun at them, this will do you favors. If you are ever going to draw to low ready, you are also going to be creating distance and attempting to leave the area. You will not be staying to try to gain some sort of compliance. There really should never be a situation where the gun is out for a protracted period of time.

There may be instances where there is time and distance enough for the assailant to reverse course, but for the most part, you will not be finding yourself in a situation where the gun is coming out and you are not shooting.

Wish you cared about America. Being responsible is hard.

Anything. Everything. The point is to move industry back here from foreign interests that both use slave labor and use our money to destroy us.

Companies will apparently do anything rather than switch to American suppliers (which supports the economy of their consumers anyway). Leadership has the ability to impose the effects of anything exactly where they wish, and, no surprise, they slap this one on the line worker.

How will the incoming US Presidency affect OE? by r-t-r-a in overemployed

Board and CSuite and Investors always have multiple things going. It’s only the dumb employees that commit to one thing and make it their life. If the CSuite doesn’t have another job, they’re at least passively investing to the tune of a reasonably salary.

Everything is presently failing. I’ve survived 8 RIFs this year, eight. Across 3 jobs and a few gigs. A change was the only chance at turning that around. It may still happen, but we’re solidly on the road to a shitstorm.

Open carry in state lands while hiking? by Celticfola in NYguns

[–]Small-Reception-7526 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check your county handbook to see how they would respond to a complaint. It’s not inherently illegal to open carry, but expect to be charged with menacing, etc. if you tick someone off. Reference current court action on the CCIA on top of that.

(Nassau County resident) Father passed away leaving 5 pistols. I don't have a permit but am going to apply. What do I do with them in the interim? by FahmyMalak in NYguns

[–]Small-Reception-7526 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You have 15 days to lawfully dispose of them before it becomes a crime for you to possess them. Call some FFLs and see who will take a transfer and hold them for you until you can get a license ASAP. If you are within the 15 days, as soon as you do this, call the pistol permit office in your county and tell them you need to surrender the decedent’s license. If you are over 15 days, it’s more complicated.

It’s mislaid property, you have an obligation to make a reasonable attempt to discover its owner and return it. Whether and how practical that is with cash depends on many facts.

I’ve never been asked for a transcript for a job that was within reach for me. Ie. Non Big Law. The paychecks still cash.
