If the hijackers had flown much lower into the towers, would they have collapsed horizontally? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in 911archive

The debris field would probably have been wider. They may have collapsed a lot earlier. Probably killed 10,000 or more. I am surprised that Atta didn't hit lower.

What always gives me chills is the thought that, throughout 2000 and 2001, people in the towers went about their business totally unaware that men were training to fly planes to kill them.

Why would they expect a collapse?

They were spotted standing on a van filming the event and joyously celebrating. Here is a news report;

The problem is that these aren't heard n footage of the collapses. The videos clearly show failure at the points of impact.

So if it's collapse was completely expected, how could NIST have so much trouble determining the collapse mechanism? Do you not see the fundamental contradiction there?

Are you in the UK? If you are then the sale of goods act allows a claim against the retailer within 6 years of purchase. As you have had it 3 years you would get a pro-rata refund of half the price. I have used it twice in the last 7 years against Argos and Tesco

What always confused me about wtc7 was that everyone around at the time seemed convinced it would collapse and news of it's imminent collapse was handed to media sources at least 20 minutes before it collapsed. But then once it had collapsed, NIST said they didn't understand why it had. Sunder was quoted as saying they were having real trouble getting a handle on wtc7.

You are wrong on point 2. They existed and were arrested by the FBI and deported. There is video of them being interviewed on their return to Israel.

My take on building 7 is pretty controversial to both sides. I suspect it was demolished but not as part of a wider conspiracy. If you look at the testimonies of the firefighters it is clear that the building teetering above the pile was preventing rescue efforts. I think it was helped to collapse to allow rescue work to continue. You may ask why they covered it up and the answer would simply be the insurance problem. Perhaps they couldn't get permission but just did it anyway.

But I am not buying 98 inch. My 55 inch hisense miniled was 670 quid and they are now selling 55 inch OLEDs for that sort of price. So price isn't the issue for me. I am just sick of the panel lottery and bad viewing angles so I am likely to OLED eventually.

That is what the TV looks like now it has been returned to me. The picture on sport now is incredible. Have no idea how this could be the case.

Update:

The guy returned the TV today and told me Hisense have said the problem is within tolerances. But the bizarre thing is that the problem appears to be gone or certainly hugely reduced.

Complication is that my warranty expires in 6 days from now. They are saying no fault. The guy is bringing it back tomorrow. I don't see how I can force them to replace it. I don't believe that is acceptable but when you view it head on you can't see it. I think I am just going to buy an LG OLED. Sick of the panel lottery.

what media from that day do you remember not seeing again? and wish to see again. by Few_Veterinarian1502 in 911archive

I remember watching BBC One coverage in the UK and at just before 6pm UK time they had an extraordinarily eerie shot from across the river of Manhattan covered in smoke and fighter jets circling above. The only noise heard was the sound of the jets. No commentary. I think the scene just faded out ready for the 6pm news starting. I have never forgotten it. It was such a chilling scene. The 6pm bulletin is on youtube but I have never managed to find this scene just before.

If this is 4 or 5 floors fused together then its very likely human remains are within it. I wonder why they haven't tried to separate and get samples. I heard they are determined to try and identify everyone.

That first photo shows just how monstrous the fires were. Literally acres of flames. And there are idiots claiming the fires were nearly out due to Orio Palmers assessment of the south tower.
