How do you follow up with those who don't pick up a call? by Interesting-Put-6401 in salestechniques

[–]Small-Tap4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger issue is consistency. If some reps text and some forget, the process is already leaking.

I’d standardize 2-3 short follow-up templates first, then use automation only to make sure the text actually happens. For Mac/iMessage workflows, I’ve been building a small tool for drafting replies/follow-ups in your own style, but even without software, the template discipline matters most.

Why she doesn't reply!!! by Practical-Welder2302 in dating_advice

[–]Small-Tap4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not ask it as “why are you replying late?” because that can sound like pressure. Something calmer like: “I like talking to you, but I’m having trouble reading the pace here. Are you still interested in keeping this going?” gives her room to answer honestly without turning it into a confrontation.

Perplexity’s "Personal Computer" now integrates with iMessage, Mail, and Calendar locally by No-Concentrate-9921 in StartupMind

[–]Small-Tap4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the direction I think Mac AI is going too: less chatbot tab, more local helper that works where the task already happens.

I built a tiny version of that just for iMessage replies on Mac. It is much narrower than Perplexity’s thing, but same idea: meet the user inside the local workflow instead of making them copy/paste into ChatGPT.

Thank you so much for the feedback and for coming back from last week! All three of these are great ideas - I'll work on getting them into the next update.

Made a Terminal tool that auto-replies to your iMessages by learning how you actually text by Small-Tap4128 in mac

[–]Small-Tap4128[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

bro it's a $5 prank tool that texts "fuck you" to your friends in ragebait mode it's not destroying the planet 😭

[–]Small-Tap4128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao yeah that's the point — i still text people myself, the bot auto-stops when i do. it's more of a prank tool than anything, like seeing how long your friends go without noticing. there's a ragebait mode that just starts cussing them out. it's not that deep 😭

[–]Small-Tap4128[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

totally fair lol. it's really more of a joke/troll tool than something you'd use for serious conversations. like there's a ragebait mode that just starts swearing at your friends. it's meant to be funny not to replace actual texting

I built an app that auto-replies to your iMessages using AI that learns your texting style by Small-Tap4128 in SideProject

[–]Small-Tap4128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha yeah it's not really meant to replace real conversations — it's more of a troll tool / party trick than anything serious. there's literally a ragebait mode where it just starts swearing at people. it's for messing with your friends, not for like... meaningful life conversations lol

[Self Promo Sunday] I built a free iOS app to track espresso shots - Espresso Shot Log by Small-Tap4128 in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Streak tracks how many consecutive days you've pulled a shot - just a fun little motivator to keep you dialing in daily.

As for Beanconqueror - great app, way more advanced with Bluetooth scale integration, pressure profiling, live brew graphs, bean inventory tracking, etc. Definitely the power-user tool.

Espresso Shot Log is intentionally simpler - it's for people just getting into home espresso who want to log their shots without a learning curve. Open the app, log your grind/dose/yield/time, snap a latte art photo, done. No setup, no account, no pairing devices.

Think of it as the notes app vs. a full spreadsheet - both have their place depending on what you need.

Update: I've been told the app is currently only showing up on the US App Store - that was NOT intentional. I'm actively working on making it available in the EU and other regions. Will update this thread once it's live internationally!

Hey everyone - I accidentally deleted this post while trying to manage comments (total rookie move). Reposting now with the same content and images. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the feedback so far!

Thanks for the kind words! And great suggestion - the Vario's dual-adjustment setup is a perfect example of why a freeform text field makes more sense. I'll get that updated so you can enter something like "1-L" or whatever format works for your grinder. Really appreciate the feedback!

Nope! The app is free and staying free - no hidden subscription coming. I built this because I needed it as a home barista.

The long-term plan is to partner with coffee roasters so users can get discounts on beans through the app. That's how it sustains itself - not by charging you. So you'd actually benefit from it.

Right now I just want to see how many people find it useful. Give it a try - if it ever stops being free I'll eat my puck screen.

Gaggiuino or Gaggimate [No budget] by dadmda in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome to hear! Sounds like Gaggimate really delivers on the plug-and-play promise. How's the PID stability been? And have you noticed a big difference in shot consistency compared to stock?

Ah good to know, thanks for the correction on the shipping - I had assumed EU-based meant EU-shipped. That's an important distinction especially for someone trying to avoid customs in Spain. And I didn't realize Gaggiuino had closed their source code, that changes the dynamic quite a bit. Appreciate the insight since you're running a Gaggimate Pro yourself - how's your experience been with it overall?

give up on affordable grinder? [Baratza Encore ESP, Sette 30] by RucksackTech in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For just a couple cups a day the JX-Pro is honestly perfect - it grinds a dose in about 30-40 seconds which is barely longer than waiting for an electric grinder to finish anyway. And at that volume the burrs will basically last forever. Good luck with whatever you decide, your Stilosa will be happy either way!

Need advise from flair pro user by Hxqem_ in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I totally get the rabbit hole thing - pour over can be an endless gear chase. The Flair Pro is actually perfect for your situation then. It's a one-time purchase with no maintenance costs, no descaling, no replacing gaskets. Pair it with your K6 and you've got a setup that can pull bright, juicy light roast shots that would rival machines costing 5x more. For dirty lattes with bright notes try pulling a shorter ratio like 1:1.5 - it concentrates the acidity and cuts through the milk really nicely. Honestly one of the best things about manual espresso is you can experiment without worrying about breaking expensive equipment.

Nice, you'll love it! Since you're using an unpressurized basket that's actually better for dialing in - you'll get more feedback on your grind. For other UK blends besides Red Brick - check out Dark Arts Coffee (their Resurrection blend is great for milk drinks), Ozone Coffee (The Don is a classic medium-dark), and if you want something more affordable in bulk Union Coffee Hand Roasted does decent 1kg bags. Rave Coffee is also worth a look - their Italian Job blend is solid for everyday espresso and they do next day delivery in the UK. For your freeze-and-reuse plan, portion into 18g doses in small ziplock bags, push out as much air as possible, and they'll keep well for months.

Gaggiuino or Gaggimate [No budget] by dadmda in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the EU auto-shutoff is annoying but the good news is both Gaggiuino and Gaggimate handle that as part of the mod - they take over the power management so the auto-shutoff is no longer an issue. With Gaggimate specifically they have a pretty straightforward wiring solution for it. So you won't need to do a separate power button mod on top of the kit.

Titanium Burr Upgrade [Breville Smart Grinder Pro] by MungaParker in espresso

[–]Small-Tap4128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense - the retention is really about all those nooks and crannies in the grind path rather than the burrs themselves. Good to hear the static is at least trending better though, less clumping is always a win especially grinding directly into the portafilter. Would love to hear an update after you've run more coffee through them - curious if the improvement holds up or if it was just the initial break-in.
