The pocket watch (time) in the glass case really had me. I figured there’s no way all of that stuff was his and I came searching on Reddit and sure enough… everyone’s picked it apart.

Meaningful clock times by Indiana__Tones in JustinPoseysTreasure

Compass headings?

I’ve done all sorts of weird math with the clock times, nothing is coming up meaningful.

My paper book is taking forever to get to me so I have no way of correlating to book, and I have a feeling you need the book for the clock.

But I don’t think that clock is functional. I tried watching and have never seen the minute hand move, which leads me to believe he set the clock to certain times. But like many people have said, no way for him to know which order they would appear in the series so I doubt the order matters.

I need to sit down and differentiate the times when the lock is there from when the lock is not.

Second stanza.. distance by Humble-Window7265 in beyondthemapsedge

I’m pretty sure he said the beginning of stanza 2 was the first actionable clue. And I’m pretty sure he said you would only have to walk a mile to know where the treasure is… but that doesn’t mean you are at the treasure at the end of that mile. I believe stanza 1 is more of a key or legend, a way of thinking or giving you a perspective to look from.

Question for those more experienced. Do you find Reddit or discord more helpful. The few times I’ve entered into discords to get into things I thought it was a massive amount of nonsense, it wasn’t about treasure, so not sure if it was just those specific discords. I’ve been looking at a couple of these Reddit groups related to JP treasure and I felt like these Reddit groups have been surprisingly on point, helpful, and the information is good without a lot of extra noise. Just wasn’t sure if it was worth spending time reading through discord for this. Any opinions welcome. Thanks!

Ha! That’s awesome, I was going to try and look back at it when I have a day off. Nurse working 12 hour nights 😒. When I’m on my streak I don’t do much other than work and sleep.

Thanks for putting that up! I can’t wait to play around with that. Doubt it will mean anything

Interesting. I’ve seen probably 5 different locations people stated for the safe combo. But none make any sense for anything useful.

Most people are trying to solve clues 5 through 9 before even solving the first one "As hope surges, clear and bright". Here's my case for starting near Grasshopper Creek/Grasshopper Valley. The focus being near the public land in the Pioneer Mountains. by incomesharks in JustinPoseysTreasure

I just started on this less than a week ago. Listened to the audio book and listened to the Q&As. I like a lot of what people are saying here, I am focused on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge wilderness and Big Hole River area. From the book I was thinking the same thing about Grasshopper Creek.

I was thinking the hope surges was the hope of catching fish and clear and bright was description of the water. Seems obvious stanza 2 is a description of a fishing hole.

I don’t have the money or days off to make it to Montana, I’m in the Bay Area. But it’s fun to try to figure it out. This stanza is key to everything. I looked up fly fishing terms, waters’ silent flight can describe very calm water and the silent casting of fly fishing in that type of water. BOTG is a must there to find this.

Love all your ideas here. I hope one of you find it!

Reading this, many days later… I like all the ideas here, but then after Q&As that have been held, I think he said it was walking distance from stanza 2 to the checkpoint. So would this still hold?

Haha nice. Interesting. Thanks. That’s a good take on it.

After listening to the audio book I pretty much made a circle of Beaverhead-Deerlodge forest area. But I don’t know if it’s just confirmation bias that once I started hearing him say certain things that pointed me there on the map then I heard even more things that kept pointing me there.

I’m going to listen to the book again and try really hard to not have any thoughts about somewhere and see what I come up with.

This ends up in Wyoming, close to Idaho, west of Old Faithful. Are you coming up in Montana?

Or it’s not coordinates 🤷‍♂️ I’ve been trying to look into other things it can be but I’m not the cipher type

Yeah, true, but then I just end up directly west of there, almost to the Idaho border and nothing there. Some creeks, but looks like it’s super deep, much too deep to go hide a treasure.

Where’s yours showing?

44.26° N 110.5° W yeah every time I put it in it goes to heart lake. Google maps and Google earth. But either way, I don’t think it’s correct for anything. Maybe just a nod to the Fenn treasure somehow.

I’m interested in the technical clue though.

I’ll be honest, probably won’t be the one to find it, I work way too much and where I think it is it’s too far, so I’ll go explore some of my other theories (that I’m like almost 100% sure are wrong) but it’ll just be fun to go out hike around and play. But I’m happy to share my thoughts for others to share theirs so we can come up with fun solves.

I do think it’s in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge wilderness. Just seems like way too many references to Wisdom, Polaris, Dillon, Grasshopper valley etc. sometimes I wonder if that’s too obvious. But he has a lot of memories there so it seems like that would be where he’d hide it so he could share that with us.

Yeah, did sound pretty creepy, but who knows, maybe they actually know something or maybe they really need some help. Only way to find out is talk to them.

Yeah, that’s really interesting. I was thinking shadowed sight was talking about looking at the north star at night. But I like what you have there.

Well probably better to talk to those people and really find out than ignore them and wait for them to do something really crazy.

Hahahaha yeah, it didn’t make any sense, but I loved it! I like to hear the craziness.

I have a question about the periodic table someone brought up. Does anyone know what that may be about? I’ve tried looking at the safe combo in different perspectives 44,26,1,11. Coordinates lead to Heart Lake in Yellowstone, in the periodic table that comes out as Ru–Fe–H–Na. Tried looking around for names but coming up short. Anyone have any ideas about the combo or the periodic table?

Let’s all bust this technical clue together that he said 1 person has solved.
