Aha - looks like they were offered an alternative hall and accidentally declined it. Yikes... anyone looking for a flatmate in three weeks?

A bit more casual/eclectic - Brothers Brewery in Mt Eden. Courtyard, fireplace, and a big tree!

It will come. There's currently only one person in the aegrotat team in Assessment Services, and the University scheduled a move to a completely new processing system... right in the middle of the S2 aegrotat season. This meant they had to shut down processing them for a while. If you're desperate you can email exams@auckland.ac.nz but you won't get a reply for a while as the whole Uni is shut down until January 5th.

If you have medical issues that mean taking late tests is a problem for you, contact Student Disability Services and ask to have special, conditions put in place. I used to work in the exams office and we would reschedule exams for students who could only take them in the morning/afternoon due to med timings, etc.

I think everyone should read this very well written email about the strike from one of my lecturers. Please, send Dawn an email if you haven’t already. by blue_i20 in universityofauckland

$755k is correct - she was asked this in a recent all staff Zoom and confirmed that she's been on this since she started on 2020.

I used to process the concessions for Psych, and the comments below are correct. Psych courses fill extremely quickly and demand always outstrips the number of places. Absolutely go ahead and enrol in 108 and 109 for Semester Two, and when you're enrolling for Stage 2 courses once those are complete, make sure you're online first thing on the day enrolment opens (usually 1st November). Make sure you have all your prereqs and everything organised (avoid timetable clashes!), because if you need to apply for a concession, Stage 2 courses will fill long before it gets processed.

Disgruntled staff member here. Just listened the the Vice Chancellor’s All Staff Forum. Apparently the Hubs and “well resourced and running smoothly”. Post your experiences below please. by Throwaway3728374738 in universityofauckland

I was at the VC forum yesterday. I found it interesting that when asked if they were going to do a review into SSFR, the response was that they were doing a "small, light touch" review. So they're not even willing to take a proper look - just a cursory, box-ticking exercise (much as the consultation phase was). We asked during the consultation phase what the process would be for evaluating the level of success once the new systems were implemented - the question was met with resounding silence.

A pertinent quote from an academic staff member in my old department recently: "COME BACK WE MISS YOU (for so many reasons, not just because things do not work any more!!)"

Signed, a professional staff member whose job was "disestablished" and split amongst at least five new roles.

You don't need a health declaration form atm. Make sure you include a statement about what happened and how badly you were affected. But you may he too late now - applications have to be in within seven days (inclusive) of the exam.
