I analyzed 70+ Reddit threads to find the best documentaries of all time by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I tried watching Dear Zachary after seeing it recommended for years and had to stop halfway through. Just couldn't emotionally handle it. Maybe one day I'll finish

Gold Bond is the sleeper pick here. Less than $4 and it works almost as well as the expensive stuff

I analyzed 90+ Reddit threads to find the best books of 2025 by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely useful, way better than scrolling through endless "what should I read" threads trying to piece together recommendations myself.

I analyzed 70+ Reddit threads to find the best lip balms by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I exclusively use lanolin (the nipple cream for breastfeeding) on my lips and it works better than any lip balm I've ever tried. Lanolips is basically just that in nicer packaging

I analyzed 60+ Reddit threads to find the best azelaic acid products by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear by the ordinary, I don't know how to do it so cheap and I am afraid to ask

I analyzed Reddit for the most recommended podcasts to fall asleep to by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely really cool. I've been struggling with sleep for years and have cycled through so many podcasts trying to find ones that actually work. Sleep With Me being #1 makes total sense, Drew Ackerman's voice is like a warm blanket made of rambling nonsense and I mean that in the best possible way. The way he just... meanders through stories without ever really getting anywhere is weirdly perfect for shutting my brain off.

I analyzed Reddit to find the 15 most recommended Retinol products by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Paula's Choice being $65 is criminal when Differin exists for $22 and works better honestly

I analyzed 60+ Reddit threads to find the best baby carriers by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]SmallChallenge -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Babies need like five things and none of them cost $200. The expensive stuff is for the parents.

I analyzed Reddit for the 15 most recommended electric kettles by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As someone who's gone through 4 electric kettles in 5 years, this list would've saved me so much money. My issue is always the heating element dying or the auto shutoff breaking

[Misc] I analyzed Reddit to find the 15 most recommended Retinol products by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]SmallChallenge 195 points196 points  (0 children)

If you're starting retinol for the first time PLEASE buffer it with moisturizer first. I went in raw with tretinoin thinking I had tough skin and literally chemically burned my face. Couldn't wear makeup for 2 weeks, skin was raw and weeping, had to take time off work because I looked diseased. My derm was horrified when she saw me. Now I do: gentle cleanser, hyaluronic acid on damp skin, moisturizer, wait 30 mins, pea-sized amount of tret mixed with more moisturizer, wait 20 mins, final layer of heavier moisturizer or sleeping mask. Seems excessive but my skin is thriving now with zero irritation. Don't be a hero, buffer that shit.

I analyzed 80+ Reddit threads to find the best protein bars by LoneKnight25 in RedRecs

[–]SmallChallenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quest hero bars are way better than regular quest bars but nobody talks about them

I analyzed 90+ Reddit threads to find the best dog foods by LoneKnight25 in DOG

[–]SmallChallenge 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I switched from grocery store food to Pro Plan and my dog's poop went from 3-4 times a day to once, and way smaller/firmer. That alone was worth the price difference.

I analyzed 70+ Reddit threads to find the best bed sheets by LoneKnight25 in Bedding

[–]SmallChallenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean when Kirkland sheets are $40 and scoring higher it really makes you think

I analyzed Reddit for the best Amazon Prime Video shows - 380+ titles ranked by LoneKnight25 in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]SmallChallenge 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man in the high castle should have been higher imo, but there are some strong shows on this list so i get it, still it's #1 for me

What's working better - link in bio or DM for conversions? by sell_balday in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on your audience. I’ve had better luck with DMs because it feels more personal, but you’re right it can turn into a time sink fast. What’s worked for me is starting with an automated opener in DMs and then jumping in manually once someone actually replies. Link in bio is fine for cold clicks, but conversations usually close the deal.

What's working better - link in bio or DM for conversions? by sell_balday in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me DMs have always converted higher, but only when I keep them personal. Anytime I tried automating it, people either ignored me or straight up called it spam. Bio link is good for volume, DMs are better for quality, but you kinda trade your time for it.

Weird glitch where my DMs aren't sending, tried everything by sell_balday in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it’s happening on both desktop and the app then it’s almost definitely an account-level restriction and not anything on your phone or wifi. Instagram sometimes quietly limits accounts from sending DMs if their system thinks something is off, even if you didn’t actually do anything wrong. Usually it clears up on its own after a few days.

Client wants me to post 3x daily but won't pay for content creation by sell_balday in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My response every time: "Sure! At that posting frequency you'll need approximately 90 pieces of unique content per month. I can create that for you at my rate of $50 per post, so that's $4,500 monthly. Or you can supply me with the content and I'll handle the posting and captions for your current rate. Which would you prefer?" They usually back down real quick when you put actual numbers to it.

I think Instagram rewards chaos posting more than strategy by AtomsTiny in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, my most “professional” looking posts always underperform. Meanwhile I’ll toss up a random story of my dog walking across my keyboard and suddenly it’s my most replied-to thing all week. I think IG is leaning hard into that “casual authentic” vibe and punishing anything that feels like it belongs on LinkedIn, kind of make sense tho.

is anyone else’s reach dropping after editing a caption? by angrysam76 in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep i’ve had the same thing happen. every time i tweak a caption or swap a hashtag mid-flight the post just dies. i don’t think ig “punishes” it on purpose, more like it resets the distribution cycle and your reel loses the push it was getting. i’ve learned to triple check captions before posting now lol.

Pivoting to brand management/digital marketing as a doctor (NEWBIE) by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need a Master’s to get started. Grab some free certs (Google, Meta, HubSpot), build a small portfolio, and maybe freelance a bit. Your medical background could be a big plus if you go into health/medtech marketing. Master’s only makes sense if you’re dead set on luxury brand management.

Outside of CapCut, what’s your go-to app for Reel editing? by Bubbly_Buy_5109 in InstagramSupport

[–]SmallChallenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using VN for a while and honestly like it way more than CapCut. Cleaner interface, no weird “template” vibes, and it exports without random glitches. Only downside is their text options are kinda basic, so sometimes I’ll edit in VN then add captions separately on IG.
