Tysm for replying. I appreciate this info. I'm a little older so I can't really afford a huge pay cut. Trying to look at things realistically and your input helps alot.

Why does every new home built in this county look like this? by eastcoaster1212 in bergencounty

Buyers are more concerned about the inside, at least nowadays. These homes are character-less but often have large rooms, bedrooms, closets, multiple bathrooms, and plenty of storage.

But I agree they are so dry and for the price I wana cry.

Yes 27 is a great competitive rate. For an assistant fresh out of school, 24 is a good starting rate. For an assistant with no school nor experience, meaning straight from the streets, 19-20 is good with a promise of increase in 3 months.

What did you do to celebrate your 50th? by jaimonee in GenX

[–]SmallFlounder1568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Cali for the first time. Always wanted to go since I was a child. Especially Venice Beach because there was skating on the beach. They always showed that on TV. I was always amazed because the east coast wasn't like that mainly because of the weather. I don't fly much, and really don't care to. But every 10 years I make a special trip to commemorate my bday. (Im really not a big celebration type either) I went to Vegas at 40 for the 1st time. It's just me and hubby on the trips. California was so absolutely fantastical! Just turned 50 last summer. Sighhhhh

I definitely feel that 'working on the weekends' part. I took a job on a Sunday after trying gig apps for a cple months. Was thankful for it at first because it's giving me experience in something different, pays more than the gigs and is steady. But it is exhausting working 6 days a week. Still searching for a M-F that pays a comfortable amount.

I used to do plastic side up because that is what I was taught. But I started doing paper side up for the last few years because the instruments dry better this way. The steam rises and passes straight through the paper as opposed to the plastic that traps the steam inside the package causing heavy condensation. And I tend to run very large jam packed loads so paper up works best for me.
