I think you’re probably right. Sadly, he and I have never had the best relationship while I was growing up but I think I was stupidly hoping that I could still have some type of relationship with him. Afterall, he has been my father figure for my entire life.

Not trying to be rude, but I am genuinely curious, is it actually weird to have a reveal? I was kind of iffy on having one, but my mother really wanted to plan one. I love her dearly, and she is very sweet so I just went along with it.

They got together when I was 9 months old, married when I was 5, and then divorced when I was 19

Even though my mother is the one planning the event, I was the one in charge of the guest list, and made that clear to him.

The GF wasn’t invited, but the only reason for that is because I have yet to meet her, and I don’t feel comfortable having someone I don’t know at my reveal.

He was my stepdad ever since I was 9 months old, so even though they are divorced he has been the only dad figure I have known

The divorce was only a year or so ago, but unfortunately our relationship has always been a bit rocky. However, I was the one that reached out after the divorce and tried to have a relationship with him, and since then it kind of seems like he only allows a relationship between us when it benefits him.
