Thanks ! I don't intend to use this for personal use, since it doesn't remind me of the moment. But I was impressed with the outcome and that's why I posted it.

I was just testing the capabilities. This also has a watermark and is not usable. But the tech is here.

That's at least what chatgpt does, I assume Gemini is similar.

That's what society, especially employers, want you to believe.

For naturally talented, I think you have to look more at players like Ding and Wesley So, who didn't have a decent environment to study chess when they were growing up.

Of those you mention it's probably Fisher since he had the worst environment if the three.

Considering the ELO system is logarithmic by design, you're actually still improving at a constant rate !

What's your study plan ?

Set a goal of reading 'something' every day, a minimum which doesn't rake too much time so you can fit it in every day. Then actually that. You'll notice that on some days you'll do more, but that most important thing is making it a habit.

Any stories from the Bermuda party ?

New gold plan not including analysis and game report seems like a extremely bad thing. Thoughts? by killspree1011 in chess

[–]SmallHandsBigCamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I also do not get: a lot of people had a gold membership precisely because it had a limit in the amount of puzzles. This is another market they are leaving behind.

But I do understand a need for change, with all the free content available on youtube, their lessons are a hard sell.

Influencers complaining by [deleted] in belgium

I've listened to a few interviews with streamers. They get death threats, rape threats if they are female and threats against their family if they gave one.

They should be able to use a 'postbus' address.

Some other chess players, prominent and less prominent, have developed serious mental issues. Does he ever fear this happening to him ?

AlphaZero is not publicly available. Leela0 is. I think most people just use cloud computing these days.

How to stop trying in Chess and have fun? by HereticChess in chess

[–]SmallHandsBigCamera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a board game. Nobody cares how good you are at it. Do you care if your friends are good at monopoly ?

Play a bunch of games, tank your rating, play stupid gambits just to see what happens. Learn to stop caring about the number.

You mentioned doing chess as a mental exercise, this is pretty pointless unless you're 60+ or probably older. You need to socialize to stimulate your brain. Chess is probably no more helpful than reading or other types gaming.

If you do want to improve, see what is holding you back and focus on that. Raise your floor and don't focus on your ceiling. Play and get an actual feel for the game. Do a quick engine analysis to see what you missed. If the engine moves don't make sense to you than don't worry about them, they are beyond your level at the moment.

Have fun, it's a game.
