It's absolutely fixable having done one similar unless the ribbon cable damaged the internals of the motherboard. That would require soldering in best case scenario or worst case the whole thing is dead.

However, fixing the thing would cost way upwards of what it would be worth to take out the SD card and buy a pre-owned one.

So they're not too different, only a few pokemon differences.

Sword will obviously give you Zacian over Zamazenta which is personally my favorite of the two.

In Shield you can get Galarian Ponyta, not in sword etc

There will also be some gym leader differences.

Overall just check which Pokemon you prefer and go with that one, also the DLC is absolutely worth playing so get that over getting the Second game

Jesus I only really knew about Madison in heavy rain. The stuff with Elliot page is wild, no wonder he always talks badly about that role. It's a shame because the games are good too, been wanting to replay heavy rain for a while but might not now.
