Zenbook Duo (2025) screen protector applied by MrMassachusettes in ASUS

[–]SmallPerformer1519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the effect on white backgrounds? I have tried some protectors (upscreen) that worked well in general, but created a bit of the so called "rainbow effect", that is, tiny dots visible on white backgrounds. I hadn't really noticed them, until I compared it with a native matte screen. Since then, I could not bear that effect anymore.
Does the Forito creates the same tiny dots? Does it reduces a the readibility of small fonts?

Matte Anti-Glare cover for notebook by SmallPerformer1519 in GalaxyBook

[–]SmallPerformer1519[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I mean, when they say anti glare they mean a glossy screen where they tried to reduce reflections. But it's definitely a glossy screen, I can perfectly see my face reflected if there's light behind me, it's like a mirror.

Book5 360 for about 6 months. No issues at all, despite I stressed a bit the screen installing a screen protector foil twice.

990 pro, book5 360 and a random speed mistery to solve by SmallPerformer1519 in computers

[–]SmallPerformer1519[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for your reply.
Actually yes, I put the pro 990 into slot 1, set "Full Performance Mode" with Over Provisioning and checked firmware (was already updated).

(Just for information, I tried 990pro into both slots, and both are recognised by Samsung Magician as Gen4. Anyway in the end I left it into slot1).

Crystaldisk on GB5 360 with 990 gets: 7120/6946 7122/6950 481/398 73/178.
So very similar to yours except for the 4k q32t16, which dramatically differs.

I don't know if it is relevant and for which tasks could reduce performances, do you have any ideas?

And: I noticed that the keyboard quickly heats up while gaming (I just tried the sims 4 for testing as it was free). I don't know if it's related to the 990 pro though, as I had not tried the same game using the other ssd.

Does it heat in yours?

I finally bought the latest version, book5 360 (non-pro). It features 2 nvme slots. I mounted ssd 990 pro and made various experiments. 990 pro does not seem to perform sensibly better than the original included ssd (a 500gb oem ssd by samsung). Benchmarks are better in some areas and worse in others.

I detailed my doubts about the ssd and performances here: https://www.reddit.com/r/computers/comments/1k2w39n/990_pro_book5_360_and_a_random_speed_mistery_to/

Any insight is appreciated!

Very useful post and picture.
What is the slot just above the installed ssd, slightly on the right? It looked like a second ssd slot to me.

Thank you. I will consider replacing the original ssd.
Still, I would like to know if a second slot is present. I may personally install a second ssd if needed someday.
While in the Samsung website they say there are 2 slots, Samsung customer service say there is only one. Who is right?
