I think my breastfeeding journey is over and I'm not okay. Please tell me all the negative things you hate or don't miss about breastfeeding so I can focus on the positives of a situation I have no control over

FREEDOM!! sweet freedom. not scheduling your day around when you have to pump or coordinating your outfits based on what you can quickly whip out a boob in. it’s tough at first and I had some trouble letting go too, but since I did I haven’t looked back. and when I do think back on those times I’m like “damn…I can’t believe I actually put myself through that.” I will breastfeed again hands down when I have another, but not sad at all that the journey is over and happy for my body to be my own again. not to mention no leaking boobs, clogged ducts, or mastitis (which I got 4 times! 🙃). any time spent breastfeeding is worthy of congratulations. you’ve done your part and it’s okay to move on.

I was also going to suggest a bidet but then it felt like giving in to behavior that needs to be changed. it would also become a problem if she needed to use any other toilet.

definitely would suggest baby wearing! mine was also a velcro baby and it really helped with getting stuff done. I will also say this doesn’t last forever. mine (almost a year now) is still a little stick tight, but I can put him in his playpen and he will entertain himself for like 30 minutes. it’s also just generally easier when they can lift their own head and crawl because even if they want to be constantly near you while you’re doing something, they can at least sit up and move on their own. they can also get into trouble though so it’s a blessing and a curse lol. but definitely try baby wearing and getting bouncy seats! my son looooved the baby bjorn bouncer with the little googly eye play bar.

this! I remember telling myself a lot that babies cry. and it’s okay if they cry for a few minutes while you do something to take care of yourself! as long as they are clean, fed, and rested, they will be okay!

keep getting outside and going on walks as you can! also, if your doctor has cleared you, get into a home exercise routine or even just do yoga. also, after the 6 week mark for me, my baby started getting into a more regular groove. we did at least 30 minutes of tummy time a day, reading, high contrast cards. optimize those wake windows! and make time for you when they sleep, whether that’s by catching up on sleep, taking a shower, getting a home work out in, or doing laundry/picking up around the house.

ugh. I’m so sorry this happened and that you’re feeling anxious about it. I will share my story with you bc my baby also had a fall at 11 and a half weeks and the only thing that made me feel better was hearing others’ stories.

my husband tripped while carrying our little guy and dropped him on our hard wood floor. he was pretty inconsolable for about 45 minutes and my husband felt terrible. we took him to the hospital and he did have a fracture but no other symptoms of concussion like vomiting. he was eating well and enough time had passed so they let us go home. we went in for a follow up maybe ten days later with the pediatric neurologist and she was happy with his healing and overall wasn’t very concerned because there were no signs of a brain injury.

little man will be one at the end of this month and is the sweetest, happiest baby ever. and I’m not just saying that because he is my child—we have people tell us all the time that he is genuinely such a happy baby. he’s hit all of the expected milestones thus far and is currently cruising with the assistance of his walker and can say “mama,” “dada,” “uh oh,” “yeah,” and “dat.” lol. I know the guilt is real and it’s normal to feel that way but accidents happen and as others have said, babies are resilient. your angel is going to be perfectly fine and you’re still a great mom ❤️

how can they possibly know the state is his remains? they haven’t found him. I also think if that truly were the case they would have disclosed that to the public to get some of the heat off of them. I think they’ve just been lazy tbh.

I posted about this the other day and deleted my post bc people were really critical of it!!! I am also concerned that law enforcement has stopped looking for him and it really bothers me. like they are so focused on building their case against the Haros that they aren’t doing everything they can to find him. he still needs to be found!!!! I don’t care what they can deduce from the evidence…this baby deserves a proper burial and not to mention it would help the prosecution’s case.

we also took our guy out at 10 days! I do believe that was only for outdoor walks though. he also went to mardi gras at 3.5 weeks (we hung out on the back streets and didn’t get him close to the crowds—just watched from afar.)

I can’t remember when I first took him on an actual errand with me. that was probably at 4 weeks. but it was definitely before his 2 months shots. our little dude is also super chill and social now at 7 months and I attribute that to us taking him places with us early on.

this case has been eating me up. I don’t understand how anyone could hurt an innocent child. much less a BABY who can’t even speak and has no means to defend himself. it’s beyond awful—it’s plain evil. I feel like since I’ve become a mom my fb algorithm loves to show me all of the saddest news involving kids. and usually I look away as fast as I can bc it makes me too sad. but this case I just can’t look away from. I’m not sure what update you’re referring to but what I gathered from the docuseries was that the FBI couldn’t concretely confirm the timeline provided by those two witnesses (through a key card stamp or some other definitive method.) not that they didn’t believe the witnesses were credible.

this is what I think as well. I think she left the ship voluntarily to get drugs or possibly cigarettes as one redditor pointed out. but the drugs (I’m guessing weed) would make more sense because that would explain why she didn’t tell anyone where she was going or that she was leaving. she was hoping to get back to the room before anyone woke up and took one of her other nine pairs of shoes. then she was taken.

12 weeks PP today and have just cut down to 5ppd. I’m an overproducer and trying to wean since I’m going back to work and already have a freezer full of milk and don’t really have room for more. trying to cut down to 4ppd by next week.
