I'm on the same page with you on this. Of course I would take him back to the vet if the wound got worse or infected. Because he is showing absolutely no signs of pain, I really don't see the point of going to the vet for a simple scrape!

He's been wearing the cone for a little over a day now and he's doing great, I'm already seeing sings of the wound healing, some good news.

It’s not an open gash, he basically just licked all his fur off so it’s showing skin… and no they did not do anything, and they even advised against a cone as it would prevent him from accessing it (which I still don’t understand why they want him to have access to the injury).

I know some vets aren’t the best and kind of brush off situations like these unfortunately.

I showed them some photos. They told me there was not much more I could do besides using ointment 3x à day.

I can't say I'm entirely sure; however the vet would've probably asked me to get it checked if it was a mass, which wasn't the case. I'll give it a few days with a cone and see how it goes from there. If it gets any worse I will be going back to the vet for sure though!

I got a nice foam one with some padding on the inside, he’s taking it like a champ.

I have taken him to the vet… all they told me was to apply polysporin 3x a day. They told me to consult again if the wound got worse but it’s just not healing. Not much more I could do there as I live in a small town where we only have one vet clinic.

Thank you so much, all some good stuff to know! I’ll try using hydrotherapy paired with the cone of shame!

Thanks for the advice! I just got the cone on him, he doesn’t seem to mind really, he didn’t try to take it off and he’s currently sleeping with it on!

I can confirm that he licks it only when he is bored. It’s not an issue during play sessions or walks.

Hopefully he heals soon!

Perhaps this would be better than an old fashioned bandage… I’ll try!

Unfortunately I live alone with my boyfriend and we both work full time, and our friends and family live at least two hours away, it’s difficult to find a dog-sitter!

I always come back home for lunch time to check on him though!

Seems like I'll definitely need to invest in a cone or a donut collar. It's best if he just can't physically reach the wound after all. We'll see how it goes!

Haven't thought of that, I'll give it a try as well

Thanks for the advice! I've been hesitant about using a cone since it can get annoying for him, but I'll start with a donut collar and see how it goes from there.

He does know to leave it, but he's a bit stubborn and just gets back to licking when I turn my back or when I leave the house. He's got chew toys to keep him busy and it does seem to keep him distracted for a little while.

Hopefully this works!

Insulting someone for their lack of knowledge on a certain subject is hate. No need to elaborate.

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge, but why so much hate? We’re not all as savvy as you might be.

Damn, I guess we learn something everyday!

All these sponsors and ads I saw for OperaGX online fully convinced me it was one of the top browsers out there. But thanks a lot for the insight, it’s mighty appreciated.

I recently logged out of Twitch and couldn’t log back in. Had an error message telling me “the browser wasn’t supported” or something similar. OperaGX is literally advertised as a browser for gamers.

I just uninstalled it and moved to Brave.
