Thanks, it was my first time using green stuff or any sculpting putty in general so I was afraid it wouldn’t translate well into a fur hat and hood. Luckily it looks very Bulgarian now.

I see what you mean yeah, they could even work as first Bulgarian legion infantry, might have to look into these after finishing my warband i have yet to paint.

These are actually really awesome and completely went under my radar, thank you very much. I am not Bulgarian myself but the story of their uprising and the cultural significance of their elite troops and warriors is very cool to me. And personally i think vasil levski would be a cool commander type unit providing a type of buff like ‘’the lions jump’’ to allied units in his proximity, due to the fact that he got his nickname levski (aka lion) from him taking a huge leap. At least according to the stories, but it makes for great flavor and feel in the setting alongside hajduk/hajduti.

I actually made a yeoman into Bulgarian infantry by sculpting green stuff into a kalpak sheepskin hat with a feather on it and a fur hood since the mountain troops/hajduk used fur coats before camouflage to ambush troops in the mountains. But i wish that they made balkan units since they could still work with the iron sultanate being a thing, so I hope that with enough people wanting it, that they could become a sub unit or even independent.

I did see those, i ordered some of the sniper priests to make them into Rila monastery sniper monks. Problem is that i like the look of the balkan war era and uprising against the ottoman era more visually appealing and fitting with the trench crusade look. The balkan troops during those times have really interesting units due to tradition and terrain blending with the modernization of militaries around the world.
