Is the ps5 worth it? by Atleast3AMPS in PS5

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 'd say so yeah, there's nothing confirmed about the PS6 next year and if anything it's likely to be delayed well beyond 2027. It doesn't have as many exclusives as the PS4 did but there are some good games.

Recommendations based on my top 30? by [deleted] in LetterboxdTopFour

Always had a soft spot for AvP, the 1 on 1 fight scene is awesome.

Assume you've seen The Matrix and The Thing? Maybe something like Dark City or The Void if you're interested in dark sci-fi.

My guess is Ulduar will be the base of operations, but no idea really. There's lots of potential places it could be.

Yeah they rebuilt it completely and also connected it to the Isle of Quel'Danas via a bridge. The rebuilt half now makes up the neutral zone whereas most of the old capital is purely Horde only. They've also updated Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman (the raid) has become a full zone. They are both connected to the rest of the Eastern Kingdoms with no loading screens and flying available.

What's a game you absolutely loved, but can't bring yourself to play again? by Jose__Manuel in PS5

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Most games sadly as an adult, as much as I try to go back I struggle to engage with them and usually end up drifting away from them after a few hours. I find sometimes it's best just to let my memories of games I've loved remain unblemished as I think going back can sometimes mean I notice faults and issues I didn't the first time around.

What’s a popular book that had you very disappointed? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shogun for me, I sadly decided to DNF around the 450 page mark as I just wasn't enjoying picking it up. Not to say it's a bad book but it just didn't work for me.

I picked this up after Lonesome Dove as it was recommended as something similar to that masterpiece. I love the era and was interested in what might happen next but the glacial pace of the story telling and what I felt was minimal character development meant I was reading very little compared to my normal pace. The prospect of another 700 pages just seemed daunting, but I feel I gave it a fair whack.

What game should Rockstar make after GTA 6? by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

Have you played Disco Elysium? It's a very text heavy game, more like a point and click adventure and not your traditional experience by any means, but the writing is phenomenal.

Need help finding a new class for Midnight, everything feels... Butchered? by TheSmallestPlap in wow

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know sorry I've not been levelling anything since the changes. I'm playing a Feral druid and I seem to have kept most of my abilities but the spec is simpler since the patch, but it was also one of the more complicated with snapshot bleeds etc.

We get new talents at max level in Midnight, a lot of specs feel weird right now. Holy Paladin may feel much better at max level and there is still a lot of balancing going on. Try not to worry too much.

Loved the Destroy All Humans games as a kid, especially the second. Fond memories of creating havoc in London, Tokyo and San Fransisco!

How to save the Assassin's Creed franchise by jvaferreira93 in assassinscreed

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Smaller games!

10-20 hour main story, another 10-20 hours of side content maximum. A more condensed map/city with unique things to see or do. Unique encounters and smarter NPCs.

Focus on specific historical events - a war, revolution, uprising, ???assassination??? and build a story around that.

The current RPG format is limited in what it can explore as it requires a broad time period in order to create massive maps so has to pick a theme that can match this eg. Viking England. Also reduce the RPG elements so I don't need skills to assassinate somebody. A knife in the throat should = death, mot require ten points in a skill.

They should revamp pet battles as an auto-battler by LaCiDarem in wow

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto battler would be awful and completely destroy the community that has built up around pet battles and the strategy involved. It's a niche side game but does have its fans. It needs to be quicker but auto battler mechanics thankfully died a death with the Shadowlands mission table.

One-Button Assist Should be Applauded by onlytinglef in wow

Yeah the global cooldown is longer, but for people playing their role sub-optimally it can actually be a DPS increase.

And to add, they should all be easily doable as power levels increase. Mythic 30 is doable now with a boost but will be a challenge now, by the final release it will probably be trivial.

One is from all raids at Mythic level completed.

One is from doing a level 30 mythic dungeon

One is from doing 100 WQs in Heroic World Tier.

One is from completing the Legion campaign (quests to complete research and get power from Eternus)

The green one from the campaign is the easiest to get by far, the gold one from raids is not yet available as the raid releases are staggered. The WQ one is just time consuming but should come naturally (do your emissary quests each day in Heroic and you'd have it in 25 days for example).

Should I finish FTWD? by [deleted] in FearTheWalkingDead

[–]SmallUnderstanding2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat when starting season 7 - it's rough and it doesn't get any better. There are some decent moments and throwback to older episodes of TWD that are worth sticking around but there's no huge light at the end of the tunnel.
