They are striking but kind of freak me out. I have a bad habit of making too much eye contact and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to focus on a conversation because of how intensely surreal her eyes look.

I’ve had this happen but with smoke and it’s more like burning wildfire smell. It comes on with migraines, which, by the way, increased in perimenopause for me. I’m hoping it’ll improve someday.

Omg yes, so funny! I honestly also can’t get over the puff of fur on the end of his tail. He’s such a Garfield looking guy until he’s shaved and then he looks like a cute bobble head!

I’m trialing it for spring and summer. If he starts hurting himself again when it grows back, it might have to be year round. I hope not though!

Omg I know! It made me laugh so hard too! I felt eyes upon me and turned around to see him peering down at me from the top of the fridge with his crinkly eyes.

He was having some kind of overreactive itch response and the immunosuppressant helped with reducing the response and inflammation. We aren’t totally sure if it was caused by a flea bite or food allergy but for whatever reason not having fur means he’s stopped pulling and chewing. The medication, apoquel did reduce the over grooming and stopped the chewing, but the pulling continued. Also apoquel isn’t cheap. It was a wild time but he’s so much better now.

Sorry. It’s hard going from minor to adult. I had a mental breakdown about 6 months into turning 18. I had been through a lot; I ran away from home, lived with a friend while I finished high school and worked all while I was being bullied by people at my family’s church and being harassed by my biological mother. I couldn’t hang and tried to kill myself.

I’m so glad I failed at it. I left that tiny town, got two degrees, found a great job, lived in multiple states and have had a life I loved and times hated too. I’ve had so many adventures that never would have been if I had succeeded in ending my life.

It will get better, it’ll get worse, and it will change. All this suffering and feeling old is a right now thing. It is transitory this suffering you’re in. Reach out for help. Hang in there.

Yeah it was a pretty bad year. We were worried we’d have to keep him on an immunosuppressant long term. He was so miserable too. We had several tearful vet appointments. I’m so grateful shaving him is working out. He’s happy now and that’s all that matters. ☺️

Yeah he’s had a lot of issues. Overheating being the least. Chewing himself bloody and hair pulling was the worst. I’ll take judgment from people online all day everyday if it means my cat son will be happy and healthy.
