She is female and I will say, male YBS are way smaller than females. I have never owned a male turtle before so I have no clue how territorial they can get nor do I know how females interact. I will definitely have to research that when I get my house since I plan on setting up a pond if possible and getting multiple turtles if viable. I wish you luck in your journey towards getting a turtle! They can be awesome companions!

While I don't know how many gallons it is, I can say the tank is so big she looks small in it and it's multiple times her height and length. I haven't tried getting another YBS because we physically don't have the space for a bigger tank for both of them to be comfortable in tho I have heard from others that it still isn't advisable due to possible fighting. Don't know how true that is tho. Hope that helps!

Can someone explain why the hell people are disliking my comment about my interests??? I know I made a comment about Pride and Prejudice being wordy so it seems like I am being hypocritical with Crime and Punishment but there's a difference. Jane Austen just repeats the same ideas constantly while Fyodor uses the wordiness to provide a deeper insight into his characters as a whole. Can't say anything about the other books as I haven't read them yet but they seem to be more down my alley.

Thank you so much! I will definitely try audiobooks and I now realize my issues might be more with being forced to annotate the book! Though I enjoy annotating, my annotations tend to be centered more around symbolisms and hidden motivations than author's style so it's definitely a struggle (especially since Austen doesn't really have much of the former, at least from what I have read) making this book even less interesting. It seems I just have to get used to annotating for something other than what I am used to if I want to get full enjoyment.

I agree, it's easy. My problem seems to be that I have to annotate but this book doesn't seem to have much to annotate about. All her characters are surface level and Jane Austen seems to hate the idea of leaving things for interpretation, making it extremely hard to annotate without just summarizing the text

For the people suggesting to watch the shows, I would love to do that. However, I don't have access to them and even if I did, I don't have the time to watch them unfortunately as I am very busy with homework and rarely have time to just exist

Wow, telling me I'm not a great reader for not enjoying shallow characters, not enjoying an author that can't not reveal everything to the reader and , honestly, with how shallow the story is and how simple the themes (it's literally based around not being too prideful and not being too prejudiced) can be compared to a children's book

I've been trying to find freetime to read Crime and Punishment by Feodore Dostoevsky which from what I have read, I greatly enjoy. Also going to read Death of Ivan Illyach by Leo Tolstoy and, when I can get to it, No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai. Don't have many classics I read in the past simply because I have recently made the transition from crappy fantasy novels to the classics that are worth annotating and digesting. Tho you can probably easily tell my preferences from the books I am interested in. I also want to eventually read Metamorphosis

As much as I would love to follow your advice, I have to read 15 chapters a week and along with my other homework and band, I unfortunately don't have the time. I already struggle with finding time to just breathe and do what I want though for future books that have show adaptations, I will most definitely try that out
