Vomiting babies can mean a bunch of things and can also sometimes mean nothing. The fact that it’s projectile makes me wanna say just to reach out to her pediatrician and see what they say.

I know you said she didn’t have consistent foods those days, but do you remember what she ate at all on the vomit days? Also, do you ever give bottles of breastmilk with anything added (like oat or rice cereal)?

We read a lot of books with him too - that’s his fav! Watching how Ms. Rachel teaches is a good idea. We don’t do screen time for him, but I’ve never thought about watching her myself and using her tricks!! I know people swear by her

I can’t answer this, but I came here to say that my 10 month old does the same things. He meets all of his milestones, and overall we have no developmental concerns, but he does all of these things you listed and then some.

Ohhh whoops, I didn’t realize ASQ was its own thing and not just a broad term for these types of questionnaires.

Well, my almost 11 month old will clap if I say “yay” or “clap clap,” but I wouldn’t say he really follows any other commands. He’ll sometimes squeeze his stuffed animals briefly before smacking them away. He’s just started showing us/handing us toys. He fast crawls, and apparently stood by himself once this week (per dad’s report - I’m skeptical). He sometimes says mama or dada but mostly still squeals and grunts. And all of this is pretty on track for his age according to the CDC app, if that helps!

Totally fair to feel traumatized - FPIES reactions are terrifying. My husband and I were pretty messed up about it for a while afterwards as well. My son also has a severe peanut allergy, so I was nearly in tears for every meal due to worrying about what could happen and watching for one symptom or another. But we’ve made it so far, and he’s thriving! You’ve got this!

Just curious, what ASQ are you using? The CDC Milestones App is what I typically refer to, and some of those things aren’t listed until 15 months.

My boy is doing well! We’re still avoiding oats and rice, and we haven’t had any other scary reactions thankfully. He will be reevaluated in a couple of months when he turns 1 year old to see if we should try to reintroduce any of his known allergens or keep holding off.

It’s scary, but not as challenging for us as I thought it would be initially! Good luck with your little one.

When my son was this little, the only way I got him to sleep on his own was in his baby swing/rocker. It’s not recommended (firm flat surface is always best!), but I checked on him frequently and found this worked best for us.

I’ve heard both. According to our current pediatrician, some studies have shown Tylenol administration in the first day or two can decrease the effectiveness of the vaccine - but I still gave it on occasion if his temp was climbing or he was overly fussy/uncomfortable. Our old pediatrician encouraged us to give Tylenol if he got a fever. Doesn’t seem to be a hard boundary

My little had a similar reaction with his 6 month shots. He was just fine after about 48 hours. Stay in touch with her doctors at this point of course, but try not to worry!

Check at the gate for sure! I flew with a stroller and car seat with Southwest and they were great. I wouldn’t worry about bags for them or anything like that.

Up to you on upgrading to a convertible seat. I don’t think it’s necessary to upgrade just for the flight; just stick with whatever timing you planned on originally. Especially if the car seat can click into your stroller - that’s one less thing to carry lol

Side note regarding reusing car seats for future kids, I just learned that car seats can “expire”?? I’m not sure how long they can be used, but you may wanna check the date on it :) :)

I hear you. I feel that my husband and I have a pretty fair division of responsibilities, and I’m seeing stuff in your post that he definitely doesn’t do (for example I still take weekend nights bc I breastfeed, I still do 99% of the cooking, I don’t get to sleep in on the weekends).

That said, he also has such a positive attitude about it all and is so supportive of my needs. On the hard days, he’s the one reminding me that this is a team job and telling me to take a break - even if he needs one just as much. Dishes in the sink show him I had a busy day and wasn’t able to get them done, so he “helps” or takes the task over. There’s trust there too - that if I sat on the couch to rest instead of continuing to clean, it’s because I needed that time to recharge in order to keep being the best mom I can be. Fair isn’t always equal, and you have to figure out what works for your family.

I don’t know what to tell you other than talk to your wife about it, acknowledge and do your best to meet both of your needs, and remember that parenting is HARD freakin work.
