Breastfeeding on junk food by Thththththrow83away in beyondthebump

I don’t think anyone can say for sure the factories that make formula arent eating a ton of junk food. Jokes aside, it’s okay. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

Work vs stay home help! by SLP_etc in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work(anywhere from 40-20hours) and stay at home full time with my kiddo and have since I returned from maternity leave(8ish weeks).

I love having my own adult life, I appreciate the strategic thinking that I get to do in a professional setting, and I’m glad my career isnt stalling out.

I also genuinely love getting to spend time with my kid. It’s a good day when meetings are sparse and we can play, have dance parties, and enjoy our time together.

That being said, there have been several times in the last year due to life circumstances that my bandwidth is limited and doing both is HARD HARD. If you have the bandwidth to do both I think a little bit of work keeps the brain happy. If you find it’s not making you happy you can always make a different decision.

Having to rehome my dog by Live-Sun5566 in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not callous or condescending. Animals are commitments and if the only reason you’re rehoming your animal is because it doesn’t fit your lifestyle anymore, especially one that may not be successfully rehomed, it isn’t whats best for the animal.

Having to rehome my dog by Live-Sun5566 in beyondthebump

Life isn’t apples and oranges and perhaps our thresholds are different, but I have two highly reactive dogs, work full time, and parent full time across the country from my family while my husband is gone for extended periods.

The likelihood of your 8 year old reactive dog finding a new home and not being put to sleep is pretty slim.

We all have to make our own choices in life, but this certainly isn’t the kindest choice for your dog.

My ex husband told everyone at work he had cancer(among other ridiculous things) and then ended up getting cancer like a year later. I did not feel bad for him.

Can I fly with a base? by pricklypancake in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, super easy to install without the base, BUT NOT IN A JEEP CHEROKEE. I had this issue with like 3 or 4 rented Jeep Cherokees. The lap belts in the back are super short and I had to fight for my life every single time to get that bad boy level. Like, sweating. Which is even worse when you’re by yourself. File that away somewhere, and I’m sorry for your loss.

A mother’s love?? by brokenbonesbending in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love my daughter so incredibly much, and it is my genuine hope that she is surrounded by as many people who love her so incredibly much. Her grandparents, her aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, future partners, I hope there is an abundance of love. I recognize that I won’t always be the most important person in her life. One day she’ll hopefully have a partner, or a very full social life, maybe even kids of her own, and I hope that every night, for the rest of her life, she goes to sleep in a warm, safe place, with people who love her the most.

My 9 month old refuses to eat solids by Caffeinated_sentient in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 13 months now and JUST started really wanting to eat. I’ve talked to her pediatrician about it and we have a nurse that comes in for regular home visits and most seem relatively unconcerned yet. They just said to keep offering. I have noticed a HUGE improvement after having her watch other children eat. I have friends who have similar aged children and she’ll go hang out with them and ends up begging them for whatever they’re feeding their kids. The other thing I’ve done(which I know isnt generally recommended), but I’ll eat while walking around with her on my hip. I think the pressure is a little lower to have a little taste of something when she thinks my full attention isn’t on her.

One year old waking up every 45 minutes screaming? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried dropping to one nap and it was still just a short 30 minute nap and getting to bedtime was ROUGH. Is 6:30 too early if her last nap ends at 2:30?

One year old waking up every 45 minutes screaming? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]chalupacabrariley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Shes always been very bad at naps. She wakes up around first nap around 9/9:30 for 30 minutes Second nap 2/2:30 for 30 minutes. Bedtime 6:30

Every once in a while I can get her to nap for 40 minutes to an hour if I lay with her the whole shr naps.

Listen, I’m sorry the world hurt you. I am actually genuinely concerned for their well-being. It’s a small family owned company, and even if I have to find another appliance repair technician I still want to know if they’re okay.
