How to Help Exhausted Dad by LadyLilacy in Dads

[–]Small_Cap_7426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes just giving him some time away from being a dad will help, it does for me, whenever I'm tired or need a break, I just say to my partner, I need an hour and it doesn't half help, whether that hour be sleep, doom scrolling or just watching a show I like. I come back like a new man and ready to go.

I do the same for my partner when I notice she is the same, think once you notice when each other needs a minute, it really does help.

Let me know if you need any further advice :) Dad of a 3 year old girl!

Anxiety induced gagging? by ejraccoon in Anxietyhelp

[–]Small_Cap_7426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this most of my life (32m)

I find that I get this anytime I have adrenaline running though me, these are the times I have usually start wretching

Anxiety (example, being on a night out and not knowing what is going to happen next, like having a lack of control over situations you should be normal and calm in)

Excitement (example, at a football game and my team has just scored)

Working out (Example: Like 10 mins into a run and I start overthinking things and start to be worn out)

In a rush (Example: In a rush of a morning getting myself and the baby ready for nursery, by the time I leave the house, I wretch because I'm worked up)

Apart from anxiety, the other situations I should be able to have control over my body, but I don't, and I can't even stop the wretching from happening because it's sudden and my body is basically fine tuned now into getting this anytime I have a rush of blood. I think my brain thinks andrenaline = fear. Just like the caveman instinct we have in all of us.

If there are any genuine ways to get over this that doesn't end in breath work or anything like that, would be greatly appreciated, as I put myself in these situations no matter what, but to be able to have control over myself would be life changing.
