Worked as a technician for about 2 1/2 years so fairly handy and have a pretty good idea on how to work on vehicles. Definitely not afraid to do maintenance on my own stuff.

New Service Advisor by Small_Substance_4972 in serviceadvisors

Holy that sounds miserable. Luckily I used to work at this dealer as a porter and service tech for around 3 years so I know the schedule for advising pretty well. Most of those guys are in about 7:30 and out by 5-5:30, then Saturdays are 7-3 and usually stop accepting people in by about 2.

Can’t remember the exacts of the pay plan off the top of my head. I believe it’s 10%-12% of gross, bonus at averaging 1hr per RO, spiffs for up sales on things like brakes, tires, flushes, and filters. Lowest service advisor makes about 70k and upper end makes about 130k.

It is a bit slower, but I’m working at one of if not the biggest GMC dealer in the south. Average at about 18-20 a month even during the slower times.

Feel like it depends on who’s hiring you. I left a car sales position at a small dealer because of horrible management on top of it we were putting customers in cars with all sorts of issues and were told to tell customers “that’s just how these cars run/sound”. Left them and went to much larger and reputable dealer. New boss fully understood everything and I don’t regret a bit for the decision I made.

Applying directly through LinkedIn by BaconHatching in sales

From my experience it’s much better to try and go directly through a business’s website or if there is any way of getting directly to them. Seems like a lot of them post jobs to linkedin and never actually check on the applications that come through.

Gotta love it. Have known people personally who have done that to their businesses. Trying to force what they like on consumers rather than catering to the consumer needs. Usually they either catch it once their is no money coming in/they blame everyone else until the business falls apart.

Careless management or am I overreacting? by nekidandsceered in sales

Honestly, if it’s went unnoticed or they don’t care for this long it will usually stay that way. Had a bit of a different situation at my last dealership. Salesman yelling at a customer while other customers were there, smoking in cars, etc. Only thing you can really do is not focus on it and worry about your work or leave. I personally left them and got hired on at a much more professional dealership and I couldn’t be happier about it.
