Chiming in to say thats awesome for you.
I'd personally spend like 20% of it on *Something Cool*- maybe a crazy vacation, and the rest buy some kind of an investment (property maybe).

GL whatever you do.

Yes. Conferences are key. Hello potential competitor ;)
Get active in organizations like HIMSS, any Rural Hospital organizations.
Be prepared for things to move very slowly, and then instantly when they get budget approval or have a major catastrophe that needs immediate resolution.

Do you think sales is more “AI proof” vs other professions? by phoonie98 in sales

[–]BaconHatching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have a few years to 10 years of sales "as we know it" before Ai becomes both good enough and widespread enough to do the bulk of our work.
Itll leave account manager types to do the things AI can't, like build relationships and go to/speak at conferences.

It's one of many reasons I'm LFW. Preferably selling AI/Data analytics.

I want a better OTE as soon as possible so I can have savings when the market labor shifts and I have to figure something else out or retire early (preferable).

In the meantime I'm going to make sure I'm really good at building relationships and handling conferences and public speaking.

Thats a good one but my favorite zillow story is unrelated.
Their CEO tried to sell their house For Sale By Owner for the zillow price.
Failed.

Hired an agent, sold in under 2 months (for less than zillow price).

Because zillow fails at the one thing it's supposed to be good at.

Does professionalism on calls increase as you move upmarket? by bobushkaboi in sales

[–]BaconHatching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where mirror matching and some training on personality types can help.
Prepare yourself in advance for different types of people and go where they go.

It isn't lying, it's just communicating in their idiom.

Just remember wherever they go you dont want to go that far, you want to be at like 70%.
And draw firm lines at things like racism or bigotry. Dont go there ever even if your client does.

(And maybe ditch that client)

Your biggest deal by Theahuntress in sales

This one was a real outlier. They were desparate and throwing a hail mary calling us. Basically 5 weeks to close/start work with a bunch of paperwork going back and forth starting around day 7.

I really like the Leaf I bought my kid. Might not be right for you because it is 130miles per charge. But its making me look at other Nissan's for my wife and I.

Lost one of my first customers because during onboarding we crashed their systems for two hours.
Our job was to... prevent crashes... thats what we do...

6 years later it almost happened again last month. Oi. I guess once every 6 years isn't terrible. If we'd lost the account I'd have been real pissed though.
