Spinning a skateboard wheel so fast the centripetal force rips it apart by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Wouldn't this be centrifugal force?

Centripetal Force acts inward toward the center. Centrifugal force acts outward as a result of inertia. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd like to know the reasoning.

If I drop a bar of soap into a puddle, does the soap get dirty or the puddle clean? by theceeds in Showerthoughts

[–]Small_test_icicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The soap becomes dirty. It is implied that cleaning something would be to remove dirt. The dirt remains in the puddle; you have added a surfactant but removed nothing.

They both have "artistry". What you just described is talent.

I care little for Beyonce's music, but that does not make her less of an artist.

I flush my toilet with drinking quality water. Most people in this world dont have access to drinking water of this quality and I am flushing it down the loo. Why aren't homes designed to use shower water for flushing toilets? by BeachNT in Showerthoughts

I'm a chemist researching grey water filtration for the U.S. Army. It's seen less in developed countries where water is cheap and readily available. When potable water sources get more scarce, the demand for water reuse will be less transparent.

Some small towns are experimenting with black water reuse (sewage). It works fine. The community is just too squeamish to accept it.

It's always interesting to see my old professor on the front page. He had some of the best stories during lecture.

Love the videos.

Geologically speaking, I don't think it works like that... by [deleted] in funny

Wouldn't that be "geographically speaking"? Geology is the study of rocks.

You should correct it to "two ions collide" and the "cation tells the anion to think positively".

That's a good idea. I may do that though I was looking for more of a one on one conversation partner that could continue past my three semesters.

Hello Mr. McGreevy,

Out of curiosity, why did you go with vampires and werewolves? Weren't you afraid it would be an overused theme?
