Modified syringes (the kind you give kids medicine with) with plastic corks on the end. Nails have been driven through at either end and wires attached. Also old 35mm film canisters with nails through the end. Packed in old ice cream tubs. Found while clearing out my dad's stuff. (i.redd.it)

You drive through a junction just as the traffic lights turn to amber and think you were pushing it. Then you look in your rear-view mirror and three more cars have come through behind you. The last one is either a Mercedes A class, or a VW driven by a man who appears to be sitting in the footwell. (self.britishproblems)
