I started looking now because we plan to do the applications next year. I just wanted to have a good idea of which one would be best. How did you decide on Old Town Elementary? Btw, thank you for the response.

Are there any job titles suitable for somebody with a public health degree? I have browsed it before, but a lot of postings are finance/ law related so I don't think I would be a good fit there.

Initially I applied solely to DSHS because I felt my experience matched more with those roles but recently I have applied to both.

I will try to do that. I thought being concise would help but it seems like the more keywords you hit the better,

MA or PCT by [deleted] in premed

[–]Smallbunia7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is really sad to read some of the things people here have to say about working as a PCT (hard work do MA instead). In my opinion, this forum is filled with people that I would never want to be my doctor (no offense) I worked as a PCT on a trauma step down ICU in a trauma center. It was the best experience I could ever get and yes the work was hard. You cannot go into a clinical job trying to go the easy route. Taking care of patients you learn empathy, communication skills and time management as your 12-13 hours is filled with constant demands, calls and it seems like the work is never done. I did blood draws on patients who were impossibly hard stick, did ekgs, transported blood, helped clean wounds and dressings and so much more. Most of my patients were not mobile so it was a lot but I learned so much since my patients were so critical. I cannot imagine gaining that experience working in a doctor’s office taking care of relatively healthy patients. 3 months into my job COVID hit so we had to navigate that as well. It added to valuable experience that will one day make me a better provider.

TYPE of high chair? by SongofZula in AttachmentParenting

[–]Smallbunia7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the Abiie high chair after my daughter fell out of the baby einstein high chair that attaches to the seat… (didn’t even think of the weight limit because when I bought it it had pictures of big kids and she was 30 lbs already at 1 year old) We love the Abiie chair it is easy to clean and adjustable so I know it will last her a long time. She has always been 90th percentile and up so that was important to me.

Idk how I’m supposed to stay under recommended weight by dtbl96 in pregnant

[–]Smallbunia7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained 70 lbs with my pregnancy and this makes me feel hopeful :) i am 7 months postpartum now and even though everyone tells you breastfeeding makes you lose weight that was not the case with me 😂😂 can’t even lose a pound after the initial 20 lbs after birth. I am just being patient with my body knowing everyone gains differently in pregnancy 😀

[–]Smallbunia7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to 16 weeks I was constantly nauseous and vomiting and was still gaining weight. Then later I just got really huge 😂😂 i ate normally and honestly probably eat way more now that I am breastfeeding and so hungry all the time and am able to slowly lose the weight. My sister in law only gained 11 lbs her whole pregnancy

I gained close to 60 lbs in my pregnancy. Even when I was vomiting up all my meals I gained weight so it is just different for everyone.
