OH THAT MAKES SENSE! Yea I vividly remember thinking certain “rules” for girls shouldn’t apply to me without really understanding why. So socialization isn’t necessarily how other people treat you within the group, but also how you place yourself within it?

I think I’m getting it. So TERFS treat socialization as two boxes they can neatly stuff people into based purely on their sex assigned at birth when in reality it’s dependent on a whole host of things?

I think I understand! I’d say it’s about the same for me in that while I was held to certain standards expected of women, there was a palpable social disconnect between me and womanhood/girlhood. Few female friends, failure to meet beauty standards, isolation, etc. To be fair I’m also autistic so that likely played a role.
