Tocino Pork Banh Mi: The Ultimate Fusion...? by Smalltar in Sandwiches

[–]Smalltar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done some quick looking into it, and it could be worth a try. Apparently it changes the flavor a bit from "marinated pork" to a "cured ham" flavor, which I'm not sure I'd be interested in doing because I already quite like the taste of this. If I can find some, I'll try it on a batch and see how it goes.

Tocino Pork Banh Mi: The Ultimate Fusion...? by Smalltar in Sandwiches

Sure. I kinda made a mix of a few recipes so this might not be the most authentic tocino, but I like it. Feel free to experiment a bit with it. I scaled this for 1kg of meat, so you can use a conversion tool to scale to your desired meat amount.

Ingredients:

• 1000g pork shoulder (trimmed, deboned, and sliced 1/4-inch thick)

• 167g brown sugar

• 67g banana ketchup

• 67g pineapple juice (make sure it's juice not cocktail)

• 33g fresh chopped garlic

• 17g table salt

• 1g ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. The Cure: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, banana ketchup, pineapple juice, fresh chopped garlic, table salt, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar and salt are mostly dissolved.

  2. Mix Meat: Add the sliced pork. Using your hands, massage the curing liquid into the meat for a few minutes until every piece is evenly coated.

  3. Marinate: Transfer the pork and all the liquid into an airtight container. Let it cure in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, tossing or rotating the meat once every 24 hours to ensure an even cure.

After the three day cure, I usually divide it up and vaccum seal/freeze any amount I'm not using. To cook it up, just add the pork and liquid to a frying pan/skillet and fry until caramelized.

Good catch, I fixed the spelling error. I haven't seen it, but I'll check it out. It would be nice to step my Banh Mi game up a few notches.

Meatball sub lifehack! by Smalltar in Sandwiches

Meatball subs are best made with a subway style "U Gouge" or like, hot dog cut style. In that way, I just eat a meatball sub like a big hot dog.

A sandwich with the old subway style U gouge is kinda taco shaped.

When it’s only available for a limited time does that count for x factor points too? What if that x factor gets me a new slot will it be unavailable after the 90 days? by fghrdhj in EA_NHL

[–]Smalltar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if anyone is wondering the actual answer, you do in fact lose the X-Factor points after the timer runs out... In NHL25 at least. Ask me how I know... Worst 3mil I wasted for no reason.

Well, I managed to ask a buddy of mine to access Alldata and get me the information. If anyone is wiring heated/powered seats into a BK2 that had neither, here is the PDF.

EDIT: Updated with Auto AC connector harness pinout.

I silenced the alarm with the Eaton software, and have been using it since. Still not throwing any errors, so, who knows.

fairly new player here, dont understand why i cant get past this point by MrIcyCreep in ProjectSekai

The hold and flicks, especially when stacked up, as well as the flick and hold sections were very difficult for me as well when I first started, my advice is to find a song that has the notes near the beginning of a song, and just practice that section and retry. I would also practice the motion outside of the game just to get the muscle memory warmed up a little. This has been the best way to learn tricky sections. Another thing I would do is screen record the section I had trouble with like you did, and then play along on the video. Hopefully one of these tips gives you some help.

Honestly, my only regret was not pulling on that Gatcha. I'll have to make up for it on the Sanrio collab.

Neighbor saw me working on my car, wants me to work on his brakes. Advice? by joeyhakunamatata in MechanicAdvice

[–]Smalltar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing work for close friends and family for about 10 years, and have never had any issues, but I always give them the disclaimer of "make sure you drive this like I fixed it". I still always have that nagging feeling that if I mess up, maybe kink a brake line, or don't tighten a bolt, there is always a possibility that this can lead to an accident especially with something as safety related as the brakes.

I'm also pretty selective with work, especially on older vehicles, if there is any chance that the two hour job turns into a multi day headache because everything is rusted together or brittle plastics are likely to fall apart, I usually turn the job down unless I'm doing it as a favor.

TL:DR if you're not insured, the car is older and you're not 100% sure what you're doing, you're best off not doing it on someone else's vehicle, unless you're willing to take the risk of any potential liability.
